"Petals from Heaven" -- a snapshot from my spring garden.This is "Beni Yae Shidare" (Scarlet Double Weeping) Weeping Cherry tree. One of the most beautiful of all the Japanese cherry trees in my humble opinion. Since this is a weeping cherry, and the blooms on the tree all dangle and face downwards, I lied down on the ground under the tree to take this picture so I can see the delicate "faces" of the beautiful litttle flowers. I love the contrast the blue sky provides against the shades of clear pink. It is my favorite tree. This is my favorite time of the year.

lol lying down to get the right picture. I've done that before XD I need to post some pictures of a few flowers and stuff that I have. Well, I don't keep them, they just happen to be here.
I agree though that the weeping cherry is one of the prettiest. It's got quite a dainty elegance to it.

When I visited Japan last spring, some of the most impressive cherries were weeping cherries. They were just massive. *_*

I bet. I'd love to see some of the older cherry trees in Japan. I just think that would be so awe-inspiring. I just think Japan would be that for me anyway though lol XD

You come across 200-year-old cherry trees fairly regularly, which are quite awe-inspiring. Then there are some that are 1500 years old and you wonder just how they stay so healthy so long and what they've seen all these years in one place. Old trees have such calming energy.

Thanks. It started out barely 5 feet tall and super skinny, but it's grown to be 10 feel tall and much wider across in the last 5 seasons.
