Unique style you have! You use colors in a way so they add to the insanity to the total piece.

I'm not a big fan of this kind of art, but your gallery is unique ..

I like it

I saw this in the Remodernist gallery and I thought "jeez, that must what it's like for an agoraphobic person to go outside". Oppressive! (And thus effective, and therefore well done.)

Picasso was awesome!!! I noticed you are a fan of his too with "the sacrifice". That was very cool. I really like your gallery. It's huge. You're very good with color. Thanks again for the huge compliment.

from the very start his influence on me is enormous...ive been imitating and inventing many of his drawiongs in my own style combined with surrealist automatism....i highly admire picasso because of the childish simplicity and the rage of his lines...unlike klee, with his mathematical compositions, picasso is unexpected...like Dali, his creativity is unlimited, and like ernst he is constantly not limited to one style...I really studied color schemas in experiments, once i flirted with impressionism, so i got hold of the colors...i was always in love with line, contour and masses...I also employ space in every work i do...thank you for such compliments...how about your creations...what influences were you taken?

"Childish simplicity and the rage of his lines" that's the perfect description of Picasso. That's the very thing I love about him. The mass of his work was incredible too. Two or three a day sometimes. They may have not been some of his best stuff but you could feel the energy in them. Jackson Pollock, Edvard Munch, and Vincent Van Gogh were big influences on me as well. I'm still hooked on the older artist. I'm not real familiar with the newer ones but I'm working on it. On an average how long do you usually spend on a piece?

gromyko In reply to Arum1966 [2007-01-02 06:15:33 +0000 UTC]

I agree...picasso is a creative machine...Dali is on the other hand a modern rennaisance surrealist who equaled picasso in numbers of art produced...Pollock have some influences in me, but not too much, i credit Matta, ernest and Dali and picasso more than anyone else...Van Gogh was also an inspiration, so is Michelangelo...latest influences are , , and ...also check out the great , , and ...ive recently shifted to watercolors, and met , a good friend, and an inspiration!!...I work almost daily, 2 to three works on paper, 2-3 paintings on cavass a month, and a lot of drawings...in making works such as cellular new year, it took me an hour to three hours to make, depending on size...how about you...

I liked Pollock's earlier stuff before he got into the drip paintings. Thanks for the links. I will be looking through their stuff for hours. Did you meet "kaiorton" on Deviant? Wow, water colors. I used them several years ago but didn't have the patience for them. I really admire the people that can use them. I work everyday on a single piece until I'm finished. Here lately I have been painting on 24"x48" Masonite panels and it usually takes me about a month to finish one. I sometimes have side projects going on.

agreed...its more explosive...Yes i met her here as well as all other inspirational artists ive listed on that reply to you...Watercolors are fun to work with, non-intoxicating,which is good for me(i have asthma), so is acrylic...thats a long time you work...ussually, i finish a 4x5ft painting on two to three days...recently, as i said, i shifted to smaller works, im working on a series of ink drawings about the zodiac...i was also commissioned by and to make a portrait of them...side projects of mine includes still lifes for a hotel here which is on goin, and a mural for a park...

I work in acrylics and love them. Man, I bet asthma is rough. You work a lot faster than me. I get lost in a painting and before I know it a month has went by. Sometimes they go quicker for me. It depends on how smooth it goes. I started one a couple of days ago and will probably finish it in a week or so. It's really cool that you are staying busy doing what you love.

acrylics are great and fast to use and is suitable for automatic works because we use less logic on slashes...unlike ouil, though some can also be made in oil, i chose it healthwise..yup asthma is a big turn-off...ill tell you that...but art is a turn on...lol
