This is the newest Arvalis picture, its actually the only completed picture of him that ive done this year. You may notice that his scythe is unfinished, this is intentional cause i still dont have a perfect design for his scythe yet, if anyone wants to take a crack at designing a scythe for him go for it. Basically i dont much like the lineart at all, the pencils looked a lot better. I actually think the colors came out pretty well though. Remember im still really new to photosho so any tips/tricks to help me. Im thinking that i might still dick with this in photoshop some more, so there may be edits in the future. I look forward to your critriques.Pencil: 1 hour

I first wanted my character to have a scythe, however I dropped it for a sword cuz 1) Scythes are weird to draw and 2) they're hard to pose.

Yeah scythes are way hard to pose, its almost unfair. Just about every other weapon is easy by comparison XD

Cool, I would incorporate some of the elements of his outfit in the scythe itself, such as the gold ornamentation and maybe some wrapping that goes in theme with his skirt thingy

This is an awesome design - simple & detailed at the same time! A schweet remix of traditional armour, modern everyday wear, and a touch of manga/anime...
And regarding your photoshop-skillz, I think you're getting the hang of it!

i think this looks really good! i love his clothes, and his pose is fantastic. and i really like the coloring too. im kinda new to photoshop too, so i understand the frustration.

Photoshop is absolutely amazing, i still need to learn a lot but so far its wicked fun. Just look on craigslist to find it for cheap, i found the whole CS3 extended set for $150 from craigslist so its really not that bad. Yeah thanks for looking.

This has got to be your best pic yet.
Love the use of colour! --Purple highlights in hair, seamlessly blended highlights and shading, thick, accenting outlines -- even the face looks kickass!!
