Description
Due to convergent evolution this creature has evolved to look remarkably similar to true dragons. True dragons evolved from dinosaur like creatures in our world. From these dinosaurs both birds and dragons come but lizards do not. This false dragon has evolved to fill a large predator void on an isolated island away from any dragon population. They are very good at gliding, but not terribly great with actual flying or taking off. Often they climb up into the canopy of their forests and jump off to fly.Yet another piece for *NuclearBandaid 's and my world building project.

this actually reminds me of what i think charizard is, what if charizard isnt a suposted to be a dragon but a salamander that LOOKS like a real dragon

Very nice! It's looks sort of like a combination of an archeopteryx, a komodo dragon, and those gliding lizards. Very cool.

I can definitely see various lizard influences, especially in the head, neck and feet. I think that one of the Star Wars creatures also probably used the same reference you mentioned for developing their tail -- I have the toy around somewhere... 
Only two things to query you about:
1. What purpose does the additional drape under the wings have, and what did it evolve from? To my mind it would interfere with the wing gliding, don't you think? It would make more sense to me that it would join from the forearm to the back (and not between or just under the wing and arm attachments) as that would be more real world evolution from loose skin for gliding.
2. Because of the added weight from the wings and the heavy head, and the added flight/glide capability, I'd expect to see a much larger breastbone area for more muscle to support all of the weight? Or, at least shorter stockier legs with added muscle in comparison to the rear legs, again to better support the weight. Maybe even a wider legged stance in the forearms, like with crocodiles and alligators.
Just my opinion, though, of course!

Great concept, and quite logical. Actually, even if they co-existed with dragons. Looking like one could prevent attack from predators, a tactic many animals use in our world.

i would assume that it doesnt breathe fire either, but spits some kind of acid right? man i love thinking of cool creatures like that.. if only i could draw them, i have an AWESOME idea for a species of a dragon-ish thing.. i havent named it yet cuz im not good at naming.

Yeah i have a ton of reptile books. I basically just assembled some of my favorite lizard attributes. Komodo dragon is definitely my fave lizard, monitors all look so damn cool.
