Overall
Vision
Originality
Technique
Impact
First of all: Vision. The vision is amazing, you put so much detail into little things like the grass and trees, and I love how the birch trees look. The bushes have a good texture to them. But Some of the shading isn’t quite right, like how the rocks in the second panel have a brighter side visible to us,when the sun is on the other side. Or the bottom part of the bitch tree branch on the tire panel to have some light on it. But overall, your vision is excellent, keep up the good work.
Your technique is amazing, I personally like how you do this all with pencil and paper instead of digital stuff like most people do. And whenever I turn the page, the characters still look the same way they did in the last one, mistakes are barely visible in your technique, truely amazing. And the way you put the words out like that on 5he third panel show that a lot is going on at the same time.
Your impact is astonishing as well. When I read this page, I’m excited to go on to the next one, it can really change the way you see these hyenas. Though I don’t know what’s going on in the third panel, I’m still excited and curious about what’s to come. And the way that say, “And not just you” really gets me. The impact really...impacts.
It’s my first critique, hope I didn’t mess up.

The other leopard cub maybe? [been awhile, idr their names ;-;7] Last time we saw 'em, they hid in a cave/hole/thing.. And the pawsteps leading into it.
Accidentally hid in a wild dog den maybe?

Looks likely, though I'd hope not, since it would be unlikely to meet another friendly face like Faida! (the hyena matron that says the world is ending) Mosi is the male cub that ended up with Faida, Binti is the female cub we're now switching focus to.

So many people seem to think Wild dogs, but jackals seem more likely to me. Wild dogs live in large packs, so even when hunting they have a few members guarding the entrance of the den. If it was wild dogs, the den guards would have stopped the cub before she could run in, otherwise they wouldn’t be doing their job!
Aside from that, while nursing the mother never leaves the den, being fed by the rest of the pack so she can stay with her pups constantly.
On the other hand, jackals live in much smaller groups or even pairs, so catching prey takes both the adults, thus leaving the entrance unguarded! (Although they do switch dens every two weeks for safety)
But I could be wrong. It’s late at night and while I’m great with animal facts, I’ve been known to miss things, especially when viewing from my ipod.

I don't see any silhouettes either. Where do you see legs, tails and ears, exactly?

Ohhhh, I didn't notice them before.
But yep, those are wild dogs.
And not only because I've seen the next page now.

Didn’t see the silhouettes initially. Probably because I was first viewing it on a tiny iPod screen while away from my computer.

En gros Faida c'est Nadira, mais en plus fataliste. XD
Néanmoins, elle promet d'être intéressante à regarder agir ! Hâte de la voir rencontrer Africa !
Et pauvre Binti ! J'espère qu'elle n'a rien !

I have to agree,,,,
Also, she! Hyenas run a matriarchal society, with even the lowest ranking female above that of the highest male - and Arven is nothing if not accurate.

hate to be that person but its still considered a matriarchal, high ranking females and their cubs (male and female) dominate all males that joined their clan. hyena-project.com/hyenas/

AutumnalWoolf In reply to arcadeImpRP [2018-06-14 11:55:07 +0000 UTC]
Yes. What I wanted to say was that it isn't a strict matriarchal like we are usually told. Females are always favored to males, but there is still possibilities for a male to be the leader and to be superior to females c:
And thanks for mention the case of males that weren't born in the clan! I forgot about that

Although with hyenas it can be really hard to tell the difference between male and female because the female ‘parts’ look extremely similar to a male’s. It’s fascinating!

Yep, that's true! But, every species of hyena is female-dominant, it's true. (Fun fact, when scientists first discovered them, they thought hyenas were hermaphroditic just because it was so hard to tell the difference!)

This new page is absolutely gorgeous in terms of art and your way of storytelling is really thrilling! I can't wait to see Binti again and know how those (jackals?) at the last pannel are going to face the fact that there's a small leopard in their den XD
Faida's role as " the sympathetic and helpful character which is however also a crazy prophet" is truly well played off ^^
Excellent, as always, dear Arven! ^^

I was thinking it’d be jackals... Painted dogs is possible too.
Both make dens for pups, but with painted dogs, the mother never leaves the den while nursing, so it’d be pups and mom! But the reason I say unlikely that it’s painted dogs is because they have large packs, there is always at least a few pack members guarding the den, and Arven is typically accurate on those types of things.
But I could be wrong. It’s late at night and while I’m great with facts, I’ve been known to miss things, especially when viewing from my ipod.

Wow, I wonder what's Faida's talking about. It sounds mysterious, but quite interesting.
Well, we know that Mozi has ran into hyenas (but I can see he's safe with them), I'd say Binti has ran into African wild dogs (mostly the pups) as I can tell by the chirps and yaps going on there and some canines heading for that hole...
I sure hope Binti will be okay!

Okay. I see, I was just saying because of the silhouette that resemble painted dogs. But you're definitely right, painted dogs usually never leave their pups without a babysitter at least (neither the mom would leave while nursing). I was just making my guess, but thank you for sharing your thought with me.
