I'm guessing humans actually. There is an ancient tradition of creating fences just like the one in the comic using hedges interwoven into each other. Even today there are farmers that still use hedge fences to keep their flocks safe as if maintained they're far more effective and cheaper to maintain then modern day fences

Baboons. Baboons are mean, dangerous, and aggressive. Hyenas are more likely to just leave.

Oh goodness: not only the entire display, scenery and sense of motion are AMAZING at this page: it also constitutes a wonderful cliffhanger! Poor Mosi: something tells me he's running headsfirst into a frying pan!! If an adult lioness has put the brakes before stepping into taht place, it has to mean there's something quite "bad" about it. if it' bad for an adult lioness who must weight about 150 kilos...then what would it mean for a tiny leopard cub???
Turn back, little one, and run away in another direction while you still can: dodge that lioness and get back...something surely far worse awaits you there o.o...

I am very impatient to know what the lioness is afraid of ... some say there are other dangerous animals ... although Mosi seemed very confident on the previous page ... but he is only a cub so we might not trust us >>
The lionesses, on the previous page ... spoke of other packs of lions perhaps. Of those who do not have cubs. Or maybe enemies. That lioness has a scar that arouses a lot of interest.
Maybe it's not the bushes and a trauma? Only time and pages will tell us!

everyones going for the big predators like hyenas. but what about deadly snakes? they hide in thorn bushes and LOVE basking on large heated rocks like that formation. he could be running into a deadly snake den.
