Thanks a lot! Hard to capture on the camera though; something's always out of focus!

The photo looks great but I know what you mean as I have exactly the same problem, miniatures can be hard to photograph at the best of times, cloudy days are the worst for me!

Do you also face the problem of things being almost too detailed with the camera? I oftentimes feel that a camera shows details an eye would never even notice!

Yes.  The smaller the miniature  the harder it gets for me but I find getting  lighting 'just right' helps. Placing mirrors or other reflective surfaces around the miniature and playing with the positions of them can help . It's not easy photographing miniatures.

No problem. Another thing I find with miniatures is that every little speck of dust or fibre strand out of place will show up for the camera even though it can't be noticed by the naked eye, so I use a small piece of sticky tape to pick up any dust on the sculpture before taking photos and then smooth down any fibres with a small piece of dampened satin cloth for sculptures with fur. Cotton buds or anything that can transfer fibres might result in a nightmare so avoid those. Paint appearing to look glossy in a photo when it isn't is another problem which is down to lighting again.   Normally it isn't necessary to look out for every speck or detail taking photos but with miniatures it's another story.
