At Dr. Karen Simmons' office, her job was couples and family therapy for whomever she hired, making sure that whenever she finished with her clients they were satisfied with her therapy services..

In this case she hosted a newly married couple, Jennifer and Kevin. They were high school sweethearts and got married after college, but married life didn't seem to sit well with them since they hadn't lived together for long before. So Karen had decided to use a therapeutic program that always worked with her patients, which guaranteed the solution to her problems in just a few sessions. The couple, without bothering to read the admission contract and eager to stop walking through eggshells with each other, signed it. When doing so, the therapist smiled and explained that the first step (and probably the only one) of the program was based on taking photos with an old camera that she had at the end of each session, what she obviously did not mention was that that camera had magical properties, that altered the reality of those who appeared in their photos to make them more "compatible" with each other with each shot. Without being aware of that detail and with the doctor's permission to do whatever she wanted, she got to work.

At the end of the first session, Karen took the first photo of the couple, who continued to look visibly irritated in her. The change was small at first, Kevin shrank a little while Jenifer continued to look the same, although neither of them noticed the change as reality adjusted as well. Later that day she reviewed the couple's information and confirmed two details on the copy of their identification: that the man's age had dropped from 25 to just 18 and that his couple status changed from "married" to " in couple". In the second session there were no better results, with the difference that Jenifer now had gatekeeper syndrome with her new boyfriend, although he continued to look just as frustrated.
