Nimbus is the definition of gentle giant. He's big, fluffy, and takes up more space than he would like. He has a careful way of walking, as if he's afraid he'll step on a smaller cat. Being raised in a small, tight-knit family group, he never felt the need to hide who he was, and he has an innocence and honesty to him that is sometimes baffling.

Despite his friendly demeanor and kind and sweet nature, Nimbus is actually rather shy. He is bravely trying to socialize, but the fact is that he has been a loner all his life and as excited as he is to be in Ice Empire, it's somewhat scary still. He tends to be cautious and mull over (sometimes for too long) every option before deciding on a course of action. His very mellow nature can also be a flaw in and of itself- he can overwork himself caring for others or be pushed around in his attempt to make others feel better.

Backstory:

Koda and Corvus lived a - at least in their adult years - uneventful life. Both were from Fire Empire, she born to gladiators Aglaia and Ezykiel, and he Andromeda's nephew. The two lived a happy and carefree early childhood, often playing alongside the cubs of Zeus and Acacia. Corv and Koda struck up a close friendship from a young age, that survived Aglaia's and Corvus' father's passing, a nasty Bounty Hunter raid and its fallout when they were still little.

They slowly picked themselves up again, too little to understand the complexities of the issues leading to the Battle of Massilia, and how Corvus' aunt was a key part of it. Mostly, they focused on their training, having graduated into apprentices. They were so in tune with each other that it felt only natural that their feelings developed into something more in their teenage years. There was no drama, no big realization, they simply stayed together as they had before- barely anything had changed. They were still best friends. As time passed, both cats felt the itch to leave home, however, especially as Fire Empire fell more and more into disarray. Koda left first, with her sister, Melpomene, but didn't go far, choosing to wait for Corvus to catch up to her- and he did, as she knew he would, sealing their relationship as something more.

Melpomene traveled with them for some time, and stayed with the couple as they settled into a nice, isolated patch of land, distant from any humans. Eventually she chose to leave, feeling like a bit too much of a third wheel and needing to sort through her own trauma regarding their mother's death. Beyond that, life settled into a simple pattern for them, where the only worries about the future were about food and shelter. It felt so nice that it was many years until the two found themselves with cubs, three boys: Elanus, Helios and Nimbus.

Much like his parents, Nimbus also lived a peaceful, carefree existence. He was taught how to fight by them, of course, but he rarely felt the need or desire to do so, especially as the lion and tiger genes in him interacted, and he grew bigger and bigger, and fewer things wanted to fight him. It was simple, and it was nice.

However, much like their parents before them, in time, Nimbus and Helios found themselves looking at the horizon more and more. When the time finally came and the two wished to explore the world, Corvus and Koda did not disagree. Elanus chose to stay with them.

They traveled far and wide, meeting new faces, seeing new places and even gaining a temporary travel buddy in Helen, a distant cousin of theirs. Nimbus himself never really intended to visit the Empires, but when he got there, he was too curious to leave. Ideally, he would have liked to join Fire, like his parents, but with it gone there wasn't a lot of choices. While exploring what they assumed to be their old land, the brothers were ambushed by an ice empire patrol, and a long conversation with their leader later, were allowed to stay.
