What a bitter day...
The day that made you spent your precious time with such useless activities went worse and worse, and you weren’t sure there was a worst since everything went worse like there was not a worst in the world.
What’s wrong with people? Your classmates seemed hating you without you did something much. You just sat on your class, took attention in class, noted the important, did the test, and socialized like normal. Well, not for socialized, because when an event occurred in front of your classmates, you began to avoid socializing often.
You hated for being bullied, but you didn’t want to take violence. You gave them verbal warning, but they ignored it like it was nothing. What if you gave them violence, they would cry and fell everything on your back, saying it was your fault, and you could get expelled because of nothing but lies from the bullies.
What a cruel, unfair world…
Sometimes you would try to commit suicide, but fate said no so you couldn’t do it. It was more than coincidence if you had failed so many, many times.
Every time you tried to cut your pulse, it would be failed by the wound healed faster, your blood wouldn’t be ruined, and you were already tired so you would be fast asleep and woke up in recovered condition, which was weird because it would spend days to recover and in reality your wound healed in one night.
Sometimes, you would find yourself trying to hang yourself with a tight rope. When you shut your eyes and tried to make yourself fall, you found nothing choked your neck. Opening your eyes, you found the rope was nowhere and even there was no sign of choking on your neck.
Sometimes, when you wanted to commit suicide using poison in a drink, it would be turned to a certain drink you didn’t really know in a blink but it didn’t kill you, even before you chugged down the drink. It felt warm like it was newly touched by someone.
Sometimes, when you were ready to fall from high tower in your city, you would find the wind was slower, and when you opened your eyes to expect you were in netherworld, you would find yourself lying down on the place where no one saw like an abandoned forest or dark alleyway.
Sometimes, when you found yourself trying to kill yourself by drowning, you would find a warmth hand trying to get you to the surface. And when you opened your eyes, you would find yourself inside your empty house without anyone.
Was it a dream?
No, it wasn’t , you know it wasn’t. But, as repeating like endless chain, you couldn’t be sure about committing suicide in a normal way. Something prevented you to commit suicide, which would make you hopelessly give up. But, it was not really entering your logic.
And you ended up inside the old library of your family’s, trying to find a way to commit suicide using magical way.
Your mother was really into magic, and sometimes told you about how awesome magic was. She told you about the magic that she made while she was young, like making sweets fell from the sky, making tomorrow’s dinner to be crème croquette, making tomorrow’s day to be fun day with clear skies, and getting along with her beloved mother, who was your grandmother. In your childhood, it was really impressed you, and sometimes you wanted to do that.
But doubts blocked you, and let you not be able to use it.
Time passed, as you never expected your mother would go way faster in your young age, twelve. The death of your mother was peaceful, with her smile written on her face, sleeping on her bed with pooling blood that came out from her stomach, flowed to the outside. Your mother was already dead, with unexplainable reason. There was no cause of death in the autopsy report.
Because of that, you slowly researched the knowledge of magic, depends of the fact that technology couldn’t discover your mom’s death, then this . You were afraid to try it, because you didn’t have guide to do it and you could be messing up with your life if you were wrong or anything. But, you didn’t earn anything from your mother’s death. It was neither homicide nor suicide and it would be rather either in your conclusion, and confused you.
Because of your mother’s death, you lived with your aunt, who seemed busy with family business. She rarely accompanied you in your childhood, and so your bond with her wasn’t strong.
You left alone in the darkness, but it didn’t mean you could stop walking. You didn’t want to fall to despair, yet sometimes all of your acts showed that you had fallen to it. You wanted to see the light, but your feet said no and made you fell multiple times.
Went back to your research, you found a book that familiar with your eyes. It was written by your mother with a title “Mariage Sorciere” (1). It had very old, hard, and dusty red cover with golden trails patterned on. The pages were newly old and ragged and easily torn down. There was a message in front of the first page, but you couldn’t read it, so you left it and turned page by page.
The second page and on were filled with spells that probably made by your mother, and it always matched by your memories with some of it that your mother had told you. Some first few pages were filled with gentle and kind, such as making good weather when you stepped outside, making mother loved you, and making all family filled with warmth. Even there were so many magical friends like “Sakutaro” and “Seven Sisters of Purgatory” that could be summoned using magic.
You continued to turn the pages, and saw hurting magic written on such as magic to make class bully catch a cold, magic to seriously injure one of the bullies until they died, magic to make the bus carrying all the bullies fall off a cliff and they will die, and so on. The writing of the spell was hard and wild, like someone had poured all the anger.
Your mother had felt hurt so much such young age, and used her knowledge of magic to ease her pain. She took revenge to the source of her hatred because of the hurt she felt in the past.
As you closed that book, an envelope came out from the book because of the book. It had golden border and red stamp on it. It was slowly fallen to the dusty floor. Slowly your hand picked up the envelope slowly, and opened the envelope. And there were two papers inside, with one that have magic spell and circle printed on it, and another was having a message on it.
Hello, mama’s dearly daughter! How are you, dear?
‘Definitely my mom,’ you thought as reading the rest.
If you read this, I bet you had checked my book. Something’s wrong? I know you don’t really believe magic, so there must be something if mama’s daughter checks her mother’s book that filled with magic. You had troubles and problems? Well, magic can solve everything!
[Name], if you want to get happiness, why won’t you face the world with happy face? I bet you will see the world happy with you! Maybe you want to enjoy crème croquette!
‘Not really,’ you mentally replied, as reading the rest.
If you are angry, why won’t you chant some music or sing? Music is the best thing to do if you are angry! And forgive everyone that makes you mad! Just saying “Sorry”, and it gave you the solution fast!
‘The world isn’t easy like that, mom,’ you simply thought.
If you want to get friends, mama has some like Sakutaro and Seven Sisters of Purgatory! You can call them. Or, you can make you own! I know you need one, so I had created magic furniture that would fit you, depending on your condition! It is the paper that had magic circle on it, and the incantation is in the back of this paper. Everyone can summon their own furniture easily with this!
‘So… my mother made me this…’ you looked to the paper that had magic circle on it. You continued to read the end o the message.
These are only some of the problems mama can mention. If [Name] had problems bigger, why won’t you call your magical friends? They always can help you,
And always think lives are the most important, including yours. Don’t ever run from it, dear…
Slowly, you closed the message as hardly holding your tears back. You almost wanted to cry, if you still had some prides to not cry. Your mother didn’t want you to die, if that was the way she told you in the end of message. With your teary eyes, you looked to the back of the paper, and read it mentally.
([Name], you must be sure to summon your furniture without a doubt, - Mama Maria)
Come, arise, my magical companion,
My magical companion, my magical friend,
What form they would have?
What sort of importance they would have?
What feelings they would give me?
What things they would embody to help me?
Please try to answer, my magical furniture
Your attention drew to the paper with magic circle on it. You slowly looked at it which was on your hand. And you took another look to the message with incantation on it.
‘Friends...’ you thought as slowly holding both of the papers. You breathed slowly as calming yourself down. ‘Magical friends… I would love too, if it can support me… but magic,’ and you took another deep hard breath. ‘I am not familiar with magic… but…’
“I hope this works, mom,” you exhaled as holding the paper with magic circle. You tried to erase your doubts, and strengthened wills in your heart to make this magic helpful. “You never lie to me, so please help me with your magic,” and you began to say the incantation.
“Come, arise, my magical companion,
My magical companion, my magical friend,
What form they would have?
What sort of importance they would have?
What feelings they would give me?
What things they would embody to help me?
Please try to answer, my magical furniture”
These words came out from your mouth slowly and your mind still strengthening the problems that stuck in your head to make the right magic appeared. You thought about the form, which you couldn’t think about, importance to help you which would be happened along your live, feelings that they would give was everything you could get after your problems had finished, and the embodiment… you couldn’t mention about it, but your subconscious could tell to the spell.
Rapidly, a warm light sparked from the paper, sending you to unconscious state with bright white background. You didn’t know where you were, but you weren’t sure this was dream.
This was magic, and later you would see the most painful problem you ever had, and the enlightenment would come.
