Great amount of detail for a quick piece. I also really like your Dustpelt design.
One quick constructive criticism: His body seems a bit dwarfed by his head, especially when his bum is closer to the viewer. As I say for everyone, photo references are extremely helpful, even if it's just a casual picture to look at proportions.

Oddly enough, I did use a photo for this one. I was referencing pictures of lithe cats (thin little bodies) because that's how he's described in the books. The paintings I use reference for usually someone comments and tells me it doesn't make sense, haha! Cats must defy regular art expectations.

Meh, I'd have to look at the picture you referenced to judge... But I sometimes do the same thing. Β Head too big or too small, usually because of my comfort level with that animal's facial anatomy.

This boy is something else, he's remained a big grouch, but he does have his soft side...it's a shame that he lost Ferncloud and it really hit him hard (and the Erins were mean enough to take two more of his kids? that's cruel).

I know wtf that part made me lose it. They didn't have a huge role but they had soo many kids - it was almost like the authors knew the best way to make us scream, lmao.

I think Icecloud's death was intended, a way to get rid of the Lion x Ice shipping...
But you know, I heard Ferncloud was killed because fans complained about her...what did she ever do wrong besides be a mother and a she-cat who knew how to help the new queens?
