I thought I should print a ton of stuff off and make a tangible portfolio, so that it's more personal, shows my annotation and my page layouts and generally makes it more interesting too, rather then only having DA's portfolio thing... which I'll probably use too.I'm not sure if to leave it as just my name on the page or have in neat writing at the bottom something like 'Ashley Kerins' Portfolio.'' or.. I dunno.
This is actually my handwriting btw, I just measured it to make it neat, and used a calligraphy pen. =]

it's quite simple really- the colour at least. You just wet the paper and lightly put different watercolour colours ontop, let it settle a little, and then dab away at the edges so they fade out... or leave them as I have at the bottom, so you have that darker rim. To get the drops- which won't often occur naturally, you just add water to a certain part until it drips.. then take the water from it with a tissue, as it wont dry easily like that. =]
naah i didnt do this in college, this was before I moved to foundation..I did this alongside the BTEC course thinking I needed a fuller portfolio- however I've got one now thanks to the Foundation =]

You just need patience with them i guess. Don't try to paint with them like you'd paint with acrylics or Digitally, they're dont really work like that. You gotta learn how they work. X3
I don't recalll.... I might have done one in print? mneh. I like watercolours, I probabbly did something like this at some point!

I need to go back to traditional soon, if it weren't for college i would have forgotten how a pencil works, much less watercolours.

I'm sure you'll have loads by the time you need it. All your stuff is so manly and henchly awesome, they'll be blown away by it's sheer awesomeness and it won't matter if you're lacking a bit!

hmm, the interview I just went to went okay.. I'd not say they were blown away by anything.. and they only gave me 10 minutes and didn't ask me much. .. =S ah well.. I guess it was my 3rd choice.. but i'd like to know if I did anything wrong or.. have a little more feedback from them so I could try pick that out myself..

Sometimes the interviews have like, an epic poker face on, so even if they liked you they'l still look like they hate you. At least it wasn't traumatising, you can use it for practise for the ones you really wanna do
maybe the next one will give you a better time.

Hard work = talent. I guess there's an element of what made me want to draw in the first place.
But drawing for hours from the age of 2 doesnt mean my pictures were any good at the age of 2. It just means I practiced alot.

You're welcome! I just adore the text. You have... some very neat handwriting. I guess that proves the fact that "All great artists have terrible handwriting" is wrong

..well my sister's handwriting is dreadful XD
this one is neatened up.. I don't write with perfectly sized lower cases and.. stuff all the time. It always looks loopy and stuff like ot does there, but it still slants now and then and can look messy depending on what I'm doing
