The Senior Officers' Quarters (on The ENTERPRISE "D") always seemed like Four-Star Hilton Hotel Rooms, if they had them in the 24th century. LOL.

I'm betting pretty much all the Galaxy class ships are like that, well except the ones put out during the Dominion War.

The Next Generation episode, "The Wounded", showed that although he went rogue, the Captain of the Nebula class starship who used to serve with O'Brian, was correct. Starfleet had become too lax and too comfortable with its military side. The enemies never go away. Either they join you for real or join you to infiltrate you! The bad guys plan and scheme while Starfleet plays only at exploring. There is nothing wrong with exploration BUT they still will eventually need a strong Military Force that is up to par and well-trained to fight. By the time of TNG, the ships were more for the comfort of explorers than being ships of war. Sadly, no matter what, War never stops, it just takes some long pauses in between the fighting.

Agreed. There is an old saying, "Prepare for War in Times of Pure Peace." It comes from the Ancient Greek , from Philosophers, who tried to explain why Sparta was training men in combat and fighting even though the times may be peaceful. You never know when that one day will come when your world would be invaded. Can you defend it or will you surrender just to save the young women and girls?! Traditionally when one group invaded another, they killed all the men and boys, regardless of age and killed all elderly, including all the older women as they could not have any children of the invaders. The women and girls of child-bearing age would be enslaved. This was taught as potential scenarios to the Spartans and why they drove themselves to be the best warriors and soldiers they could be. I think today as a society we have become too comfortable and even in the 24th century, I could see humankind loosing its defensive strengths.

Between The Borg and The Dominion War, they really needed to re-prioritize. Shapeshifting aliens from another quadrant and autonomous cyborgs with a hive mind that want to take you and turn you into a cog in the wheel of their collectivism. Kinda warrants a few warships being built.

Well we did get the Defiant and the Sovereign had to have been developed or was in the stages of being developed around Wolf359. Still think it was ridiculous that we didn't see another Sovereign class in DS9.

Exactly. I am not as much of a fan of the Sovereign class as I am of some other ship classes. I like the Century class, which seems more refined than the Sovereign and the Century class would have made a far better ENT-E to me. The Polaris class slipstream drive ship seems like a better contender for the ENT-F than the official class of the ENT-F, which is the Odyssey class. I do like the Titan class and the Defiant class. I also like the Centaurs as fast destroyers/ armed and fast escorts. We got to see only one in DS9. when that ship tried to take out a Jem'Hadar cruiser BUT that cruiser was covertly under the command of Sisko and crew, including Garrak.

Part of the Sovereign class that I both love and hate is that they went from the Galaxy that looks proud and majestic and powerful and went to the 'hot rod' and went all Top Gear on the design. It looks like an evolution of Starfleet design, and so does the Century, but it's missing that elegance and majesty. But I also like that they went 'hot rod' with it and gave us something that looks fast and powerful as all hell. lol

I've actually started working on a floor compass design (may or may not use it) and instead of a ship wheel on one wall, have a Polynesian star map.

Yeah, one of my ships the Mongoose is named after my bicycle and the registration is based on the date I bought Star Trek Online, because the captain is the first character I made for the game.
