They put me on conference calls I don't need to be on at work and I WILL play.

Those red I-beams are classic to Trek. Also, that red metal ladder between decks as an alternative to waiting for a turbolift.

Excellent 'balance' between classic and 'neo-retro'.

Yeah I'm trying to work it in along the lines of Gene's thinking with TMP where he was all like "trek was always like this in appearance, we just didn't have the budget" but I'm of the opinion you can up the production value a bit and keep that iconic look a bit.

The uniforms Pike and Number One wear in Discovery seem awesome for a retro look but still new in their own way. The actual Discovery uniforms just don't appeal to me. I actually would prefer the old ENTERPRISE NX uniforms to Discovery's. The Voyager uniforms seemed to be the most appealing to me for that whole TNG/DS9/Voyager era. I could see Spock in the Blue Voyager uniform or Kirk in Gold still, even though command is then in red. I always like the TOS rankings of Uniforms the best. Gold for Command, Red for Operations and Security, Blue for Science and Medicine (although a unique green for medical would be more distinguishing) A Navy Blue variant for the Space Marines like in ENTERPRISE. The MACOS were a nifty idea for ENT.

I like the Discovery unis, but it took awhile for them to grow on me. I still think the shoes look a bit silly, but I do like the detail they put in them. The Enterprise Disco versions are STELLAR.
