A little pic I did of Mohatu’s mate and Queen of the Pridelands Nya when she finds baby Uru at the borders. I wrote a story to go with it too! Woohoo! XD

It was a tough day for Nya, as were many of this time. She and her mate, King Mohatu, both knew that the Kingdom was experiencing one of the worst dry seasons in Pridelands history. On top of that, the two had been having trouble conceiving an heir for a long while. Some of the animals were starting to get impatient with waiting for an heir. Mohatu was always stressed about something it was a different problem every time. Due to this, Nya was rarely able to spend good quality time with the lion. She missed her mate sometimes, as he had begun to become distant. These were the thoughts that filled her head as she walked through the Pridelands, trying to clear her mind, maybe go for a hunt. She was so lost in thought, she barely noticed the whines of an infant cub from behind her. She looked around, but could not find any lion or lioness in her general area, from what she could see. She tried looking for the cub, but found nothing until- She looked down. Behind the rock that lay in front of her was a small golden cub, no more than a week or two old, and showing signs of starvation and several minor injuries. Nia took the cub in her paws, giving her a bath and trying to comfort the small ball of fur. The cub took an almost instant liking to Nya, snuggling up against her and trying to keep warm, and for a brief moment, she could have sworn the cub had smiled. She looked around, and, again, no other lions were present. The lioness looked at the tiny cub in her paws and whispered, "I will take care of you..." The cub looked up at her and opened her eyes. They were like diamonds..."...My Uru... My little diamond..."

Nya took the cub home, and Mohatu and the rest of the Kingdom accepted her with open arms, and she became the heir to the throne. Ahadi's mother Ansa helped to nurse her, and Nia and Mohatu raised her as their own.
Also, yes, Mohatu is infertile in my hc, and Ahadi is his nephew. Ansa, Ahadi's mother, is best friends with Nia and Mohatu, and she's Mohatu's little sister, who he loves dearly.
