So i suppose to answer your questions, no, i have not been punished for breaking people's property, however, i've never been asked to repay them either. If i ever was, i'd be sure to work off the cost of the vases now that i have no hero-work taking priority.//warning: headcanon

I can imagine somewhere along the line Link might get in a bit of trouble for just breaking some random guy's pots...in his house...right in front of him. I'm sure it'd happen at some point.
But the idea of people hiding the items in the pots specifically to help him is awesome.

It happens in windwaker. I broke all of a guy's pots in his house, then tried to leave and he made me pay for them, then threw me out of the house...

ya Pots are very helpful,in fact...how would a Fairy,hearts,and Rupees ((dunno what the yellow pot is and what it's containing XD!!!))get into a pot? and HOW did it even get there anyways?? XD!!!!

For the dungeon pots, i have no idea how things got in there. I suppose whoever designed the dungeons/temples also made it so supplies were obtainable. When it comes to other people's pots, i'm sure they were put in there on purpose.
The yellow pot is from Phantom Hourglass - it adds sand to the timer, i believe.

((You know what else ticks me off? The whole "Zelda should've tossed Link a piano instead of an ocarina hurr hurr" thing. Koji Kondo made a good choice by mixing piano, ocarina and harp in one. Just an ocarina would soud strange in the game. sorry, I'll stop ranting now XD))
