I have the manual and Hyrule Historia. What's worse is that thy both say that Link even had to give up his memories of that time too. That's why Navi had to leave too. So all Link remembers is the Great Deku Tree dying and his small adventure with Navi the first few minutes of the story. That's why he ends up going on a search for her I'm Majoras MaskΒ

Rebuilding Hyrule from the destruction Ganondorf caused..mourning toughs who died...*sighs* I always felt like staying would be..not as good as you or I could dream...

Perhaps not, but at least people would know who you or i were, what we went through...and maybe Navi would still be there, and the Zelda i knew... *sighs, trying not to get too nostalgic over events that technically never even happened in this timeline* There'd be pros and cons to staying and to going back.

Does it really matter if anyone were to remember us? I'm just happy that I get to see that everyone is living in a time of peace.Β
But...I do miss Navi..but come to think of it, wouldn't the princess be better off this way? Where she didn't have to go through hiding from Ganondorf, watching Hyrule deteriorate in seven years, and knowing that the people of Hyrule were suffering? Now she get to live much more peacefully..without having to remember any of that.*smiles and looks away* and if the cost of her happiness is not remembering me...I'm fine with that..

There's still a Zelda out there who's dealing with the rebuilding of Hyrule alone, though...*bites his lip thinking about it* I wonder what this decision was like for her, because she could have easily been selfish and asked us to stay for her sake. I wouldn't blame her.
