I'm not quite sure if I dislike you or not, but hate is such a harsh word. Don't use that around Italy, I don't want her using that sort of crude language.

Last time I drew HRE holding a Bible everyone thought he was holding porn, so I should probably explain.
During the Dark Ages around where the HRE formed, people thought back to the Roman Empire and were all, "Maaaan, I wish we could have that sort of power again!" However, they really disliked one part of it: It was pagan. Being a strictly Roman Catholic area, this was a huge no-no.
So all-in-all, the HRE was a re-creation (which didn't quite get as big) of the Roman Empire except "holy." Hence the name. And since Latin is the traditional language of the Roman Catholic Church, I drew him with the Septuagint, which is the Bible in Latin. It's also symbolized as the LXX.
