For the most part i use Corel Painter Essentials, but for some small stuff I use Adobe Sketchbook Express. If I want to get effects Β that are hard to create by hand I'll go to Photoshop and use a rendering. While I've never used it (my computer is too crappy to handle it) I hear that Paint Tool Sai is free and easy to use~

yeah, the only issue with it is (as far as I've heard, like I said, my junky laptop doesn't support it XD ) I hear that you cannot save but have to print-screen your image and save in MS paint. It's simple though, just open microsoft paint while sai is stlil up, hit the button on your key board that says PrtSc and then hit paste in MS paint

sadly i dont use Β mspaint cuz when i use fill in or bucket it always has this white pixel stuff on the edges even when i use fill in. its annoying and makes me want just punch my computer and yell

oh yeah, MS paint is total crap, but you only need it to paste in your finished image from Sai, you don't actually "use" MS.

Hey so im new here but not the point. Thank you for giving me guidelines on how to draw like this. But im actually upset because i cant help but feel like a copy cat when i draw my characters this way. Ive made my own way to draw characters but this way is alot easier and i cant help but envy the way pendelton ward designs these characters (assuming he did). I know asking you this is a bit off topic but i thought deviant art would be the best place to ask, any advice?

Well, as you can tell from my tutorial, I'm not exactly like Penn Ward. What I mean to say is, even though I draw in this style, I make it my own. My body types are a tad more anatomical and the eyes are more elliptical than circular. The best advice I can give is, if you can't make a style for yourself or are involved in a fandom (like me) then just build off an existing design. Make it your own! give it a bit of your own personality. And don't forget to make any OC's original and well rounded^^ that's the best advice, I can give, Hope it helps!

Yeah youre right, no one can completly copy Penn Wards style, so that relives some of my guilt. Ill try my best to draw my characters more like "me" y'know? anyways Thank You for the advice, it did help

it's not bother, really^^ I have a bamboo create tablet that came standard with Corel Painter Essentials, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Sketchbook Express.

so what if i happened to make a 3-6 minute video of an adventure time based series im planning on making. like make a full original video with atleast decent animation. cause im worried that if i do make an episode from my series and post it on youtube people will say "U CAWPEED FRUM ADDVENTER TIEM BLAH BLAH BLAH" like even if i say that it was inspired by the show and that im guilty of using the art style with slight differencs and that i dont own the show and that i just wanted to make something entertaining for myself and wanting to see what other people think.

well if you re using oc's specifically to the AT fandom, then you shouldn't get criticized as long as the title says it's a fanmade pv. Otherwise, it they aren't from the AT fandom, then just put in the description that your style is inspired by it.
