--Entry #1--
My name is Eddie Murrow. I'm 18 years old and attend [REDACTED] High School, where I work for the school paper. In fact, I'm writing this journal due to a specific story I'm working on. I genuinely think this could be big, because there have been many odd occurrences recently happening at school. I believe I've stumbled onto a rabbit hole, uncovered after just a day of investigating. It could be the biggest scoop this town's seen in years, especially with some of the people involved.
Let me explain the story so far, I started my investigation after a string of odd occurrences these past few months. These might not all seem relevant, but I promise I'll tie it all together in a bit.
A few weeks into the school year, we were met with the arrival of Subject #1, Adrian Books. The way I could best describe him, he thinks he's hot shit. He's quickly become popular, a known name among my peers. He's confident and attractive, and he gets people on his side easily, despite his somewhat delinquent appearance. Overall, the guy himself doesn't seem to be exceptional. However there's one detail that caught my attention recently, the one that initially started this story before it spiralled. He's not a transfer.
In fact, we'd shared several classes before, his is a name I've recorded occasionally in my notes for various irrelevant reasons. Just to make sure, I grabbed one of my yearbooks just to check. He almost never showed up, never pictured with anyone or partook in any events. The only instance I could even find him was in a class photo. But even then, he just blended in. He was there, but he was easily the least notable individual. Which was surprising, given his current look and social life. I don't blame people for just assuming he's a transfer, he's completely different from how he did before, unassuming and plain. As I tried to dig up more dirt, there were similar results. He's definitely been here for as long as most other students, but at the same time he... wasn't really here. It was odd. Of course not too weird, people change themselves up all the time. But it's an odd detail given what else I've investigated.
My initial investigation only revolved around this change of his. A quick character piece, some scoop on a popular student most people didn't seem to know about. Just a story to put in the paper that I knew would get a bit of traction. But it was not long until my journalistic instincts started going off. There were more odd occurrences taking place, but I don’t have time to write more right now. In fact, I’m going interview Subject #2 in just a few minutes. I’ll describe more in a future entry, along with my potential findings. Maybe I haven’t provided enough details yet, but I promise, something big is going on here, and I’m going to find out.
--Entry #2--
I’m writing this almost a full day since my last entry. I decided to wait a bit to collect my thoughts, and figured I may as well make only one a day to keep things organized. Anyway, I want to quickly describe yesterday’s interview here, but before that, I want to explain further as to why I’m doing this.
Subject #2 is one Jessica Hill. If you attend [REDACTED] High then you might already have an idea why I consider her relevant. Namely, she’s Adrian’s girlfriend. Like him, she’s popular to boot. She has the kind of looks that has people staring, whether it be from jealousy, admiration or just plain old attraction. Whatever the case, aside from her connection to Adrian, there’s one other notable feature about her that drew my attention. The fact that she’s also a transfer. Specifically, an actual transfer student. I’ve described how Adrian has actually been attending our school for years, well that’s not the case for Jessica. I dug through my own records, and there’s no mention of Jessica Hill in the student body in previous years.
However, there are two odd details concerning her, firstly that she transferred the day after Adrian’s change. This makes sense to many of my classmates, as they’re clearly a couple who are very affectionate toward one another. Go figure that they transfer together, or that Jessica simply follows him to a new school. But again, Adrian is not a transfer student. This guy reinvented himself, and seemingly began to date a transfer student immediately.
Then there’s the really weird part. She transferred in at the same time as Jason Hill transferred out. It was an odd coincidence that befuddled me, somehow I had barely even noticed the guy’s disappearance. But lo and behold, he supposedly transferred nearly the exact same time. It was for this reason I ultimately sought the girl out. Like any good journalist, I made sure to record our conversation, but instead I’ll simply summarize for the sake of simplicity.
I started with some basic questions to lower her guard down, but I quickly directed to her boyfriend. I asked how they met, but she just went on some tangent about love at first sight. A hopeless romantic, that one. There wasn’t much information to extract about Adrian, it was very evident that she was very in love with him, at one point she just trailed off into silence in response to one question, I believe daydreaming about him. It was an odd yet uncomfortable conversation, on one hand teen love could be adorable like that, but with my suspicions already in place due to circumstance, it put me off. Regardless, I resorted to question her if she knew anything about Jason, bearing the same last name and how he disappeared at an odd time. She gave what appeared to be a logical explanation, insisting he was her cousin who got transferred due to problematic behaviour. He was a troublemaker, so it wouldn’t be out of character, but even so. She seemed to have the response almost ready, locked and loaded. I’ve interviewed people before, and you can tell when they’re prepared to answer a question or not. Needless to say, I was not satisfied.
But before I could dig deeper, the man himself appeared. Adrian Books. I didn’t record anything after that, he convinced me to turn the recording off. I wish I’d decided to just keep recording, but ultimately there wasn’t much to collect. Though I remember experiencing odd goosebumps during that conversation. This odd tingle in me, as well. In the end I realized I found his presence kind of uncomfortable, so I exited the conversation rather quickly. Still, I find my mind wandering back to that moment a lot. There’s just something about him… I need to keep digging.
This is Eddie Murrow, signing off.
--Entry #3 (November 14th, 2022)--
Hello world. I’ve decided to note dates down as well, just to keep things more organized. I’ll try to be quick describing today’s findings.
Subject #3 is Ms. Abigail Remora, one of our teachers. I’ll be blunt, it’s a remarkably similar case as to Jessica. Ms. Remora’s known to be the teacher with the most eyes on her, let’s just say. I frequently catch some classmates staring at her in a certain way. She’s young, fresh out of college, and already popular with the student body. Especially with those with an attraction towards the fairer sex. She even took it upon herself to handle sex ed all on her own last month, and you can just imagine how that went. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a good teacher. I’ve heard students say they actually learned quite a bit from her classes, and it certainly helped she was young enough to understand the student body’s relationship with sex and whatnot.
More to the point, like with Jessica, she has a doppelganger who ditched the school right when she first appeared. Again, I somehow hadn’t even noticed until I had a look at some records, but Mr. Andrew Remora seemingly quit and retired right around that same time.
I’ll be brief, all things considered she was due an interview, and so that’s what I did earlier today. She was more professional, and this easier to talk to than Jessica, but that didn’t mean I had much to go on. She wasn’t particularly close to the two lovebirds, being a teacher, so I couldn’t gather info on those two. As for Mr. Remora, apparently he’s her uncle. Which again, makes sense. The ages could match up, and she did bear a few similarities that might imply a genetic connection. But the fact this was so similar to Jessica’s explanation, I just had to dig deeper.
Except that’s when Adrian walked into the classroom, handing in some assignment. Oddly, he felt the need to greet me as well. Did he have some sort of interest in me…? Does he know I’m looking into him? Either way, it took me out of the conversation, and I ultimately decided to end the interview since he apparently had something to discuss with Ms. Remora anyway.
I can’t keep my mind off that guy and the case since then. I almost tripped running on my way home, and the way he keeps interrupting my interviews frustrates me to no end. I think I’m almost scared of him, my heart keeps beating so fast during those moments and whenever I think back. And it’s so weird the way he talks to me, like he just mentioned my height for no reason, and complimented the way I did my hair. I know it wasn’t the most masculine cut, but I didn’t need his comments. It’s just like that to make me look more friendly, helps for interviews. Come to think of it, if he likes it, maybe it’s worth keeping then…? For when I eventually interview him, I mean. It might sound risky to talk to the man himself without getting some more info, but I dunno, for some reason I’ve just been getting this vibe from him. He seemed pretty nice, thinking back. Maybe he’s not such a bad guy…?
But I can’t let my journalistic integrity get impeded by something like that. The evidence still suggests something’s wrong. I’ll be back with another update tomorrow.
-Sincerely, Eddie Murrow.

Greetings journal,
Something is very wrong. I know I keep saying that about this case, but today even more so. I wanted to dig more into the circumstances around Ms. Remora’s and Jessica’s sudden appearances by talking to some school staff, but they were suddenly very unco-operative. Whenever I mentioned Adrian’s name, they all said the same thing. He was a model student and that everyone liked him, and there was no reason to be suspicious of him. THOSE EXACT WORDS! EVERY TIME!
I eventually went back to Ms. Remora, and she was just as unhelpful. I thought atleast she would be willing to share something since I already talked to her yesterday, but she just said the same thing. And to add insult to injury, for some reason she asked me if I was asking these questions because I had a crush on Adrian???? That’s RIDICULOUS! I mean, just because I wear some makeup doesn’t mean I like guys, and why him?? Just because he’s nice to me doesn’t mean I have to be in love with him. Speaking of the devil, he even ended up popping up right at that moment. As weird as ever, starting with a compliment, mentioning how well my makeup looked and how ‘cute’ I looked. Like I’m sorry, but at that point all my instincts were telling me to run.
I guess that’s all to say, that in the end I skipped most of school today and just stayed at home. I just can’t get those events out my mind too. I mean, what’s with that guy?? Coming in, acting all confident, and saying that stuff to me??? There’s no way he was actually trying to flirt with me or something, right? I mean, he has a girlfriend. I can see maybe how he’d do that, since I look pretty feminine all things considered. Not many guys look like girls so much.
But whatever, I shouldn’t be wondering about his stupid love life or whatever or whether he likes me or not. God, just reading back that last paragraph makes me embarrassed. I haven’t just been sitting on my ass all day, I made use of my time and used the internet to do more research. The way the staff kept repeating over themselves reminded me of, well, hypnotism. So as weird as it sounds, I tried to look for if our town had some history with that. And well, I struck gold.
About two hundred years back, some guy had gotten a whole village on his side in an area near here. They say he had a dozen wives for one thing, and that none of the men in town cared for whatever reason. He was apparently so well liked, that within a year he’d become a leader of the village, so beloved that I was getting cult vibes just reading about it. He ended up getting shot by some outsider, and the cult was ultimately short-lived. Still, some researchers attribute his domination to that of potential hypnotism, with how some people were said to have acted. On a hunch, I dug deeper. Again, this cult was short-lived, but he had plenty of children, and only one of these family lines wound up surviving the next few generations. Wouldn’t you know it, Adrian’s a direct descendant of the man himself.
I knew his parents were rich, but the implications were insane. What if his family had been doing something like the original guy for generations, just more subtly? Hanging onto the upper class through so many centuries. This wasn’t just about one high schooler, this would be the story of the year, maybe even decade! If I leak this to the press tomorrow, I can’t even imagine. Maybe they wouldn’t even believe me, I don’t have definitive proof yet, but it’s still something. I’m looking forward to tomorrow, that’s for sure.

Dear diary~
You would not believe today. Gosh, where would I even begin. I already knew it’d be off to a good start this morning, just getting myself ready. I think I was feeling extra confident after Adrian’s compliment yesterday, because I was really proud of my look when it was done. But basically like, I was gonna head to the local press to talk about some story I was writing for a paper, you know, early in the morning before school. But guess what. ADRIAN showed up, outside my house, and offered to walk to school with me??? I mean, who was I to say no. I kinda wanted to get the story over with, but after some talking, he convinced me it could wait until after school lol (Actually I think I forgot to do that all together, but whatever, it can wait).
Gosh just walking next to him felt so good. I couldn’t believe he’d actually offered to walk with me, I mean hello??? I swear, I’d never actually noticed how cute his smile was before then, it really took until then for me to see his best side. Sure he had a bit of a rebellious look, but he’s just so sweet. Plus, he totally knew what a girl like me wanted to hear, complimenting my outfit and makeup. I just can’t lol.
You’re probably wondering “what about jessica” and stuff, and like I get it, I was thinking the same, but I didn’t wanna let that bother me. Doesn’t hurt for a girl to just dream for a moment, you know? Besides, I haven’t even gotten to the best part. Yeah, that wasn’t even the highlight of my day.
School itself was just fabulous, I felt like people were being extra nice to me. I guess I did look a bit better than usual, but even then I felt oddly welcomed.
But basically like, the kicker was what happened after school. Because of course, the man, the legend, the stud himself, ADRIAN, asked to see me after school. And I was like what???? I wasn’t even prepared for it. Especially when I met up with him. Jessica was there too ofc, those two are always together. But basically, what happened there… he asked me to be his GIRLFRIEND. AAAAAAAAAAA I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT! Apparently he’d been talking to Jessica and she was fine if we had like, a deal going on of both being his girlfriend. And who was I to say no? Jessica’s so sweet anyway, we’re basically besties now. So yeah umm, long story short, I have a boyfriend now. Yeah, like I said it’s just so hard to believe. And Adrian too, gosh. I just can’t.
But yeah, the three of us were gonna go on a date tomorrow, and I’m so excited. Also just realized this would make for a good story in the gossip section of the school paper, definitely gonna write about that for next week.
I just can’t wait for tomorrow, it’s unreal lol. Like aaaaaa I’m looking forward to it! Do you think he’ll kiss me at one point?? Atleast I hope so, I mean he has to right. Him and Jessica have always been real close. Gosh, does that mean he might treat me the same way too??? I don’t know if I’m prepared, but I’m SO not complaining.
But anyway, catch ya later!

I’d been wanting to a final sequel to this one for a while, so finally put some hours together to write this one.
It’s good to be back, had lost some motivation after all that writing last month. Not sure how much I’ll be writing in the future, but I haven’t stopped, that’s for sure. I still have a few ideas to toy with, and of course people are free to offer up suggestions in the comments or my DMs.
But other than that, cheers!
