Adam, this is a really good abstraction. I was attracted to it as soon as I visited your site
I'm a bit like Sue...(Winklepickers) Love using Paint Shop Pro, but find PS a bit less user friendly...I have CS2 but rarely use all the programmes....so wish I could do a course
Anyway, I have taken note of what you said to her, and will check out your scraps

PS is mostly aimed at professionnal photographers to be inserted in the graphic universe ( with illustrator and indesing ) for edition. It contains many, many tools and you can add more, but it is not aimed a painting directly. l PSP that apparently, contains more ready to use goodies and painting and drawing tools. In Adobe world thoses things are in Illustrator, that I dont know well : I know very well the color aspects in PS because as photographer, I am a color freak.

In this case I started with a photo, very simple in fact, I have a recycling directory for shots that are just material. And I altered the colors different ways : I know all the color tools of photoshop quite well.
I can paint without the paint pot, just with selections, combinations of layers, color modifications masks.
So, somehow, it doesnt matter what are the shades of the start, but light or middle are easier to work with. They have the potential.
I can put the photo in my scraps for you to see.

I am trying to learn Photoshop, as Eva has made a black template for the club. I would like to be able to put the club pictures onto it like her. I can in PSP but not in Photoshop. I can't make layers there.
I've asked her to show me. She will send me screenshots with arrows.
If I don't really understand I'll ask you.... but I'll try first.


These programmes are really excellent. They are like artistic tools or are comparable to fractal programmes even.

Of course they are artistic tools. You can make anything with PS, the only limit is imagination...Well, some little things are missing also, like a tool to draw spirals directly. It is more an Illustrator thing but I am not familiar with it.
