This is for the Restless Photographers Up Close and Personal contest.Getting up close and personal with flowers is sure to reveal the most incredible secrets... the hearts of flowers are micro worlds containing human body parts, coffee beans, insect wings, beads, feathers and whatever else your imagination can conjure. I think this one looks like thousands of little tiny buds surrounded by rows of canoes. What do you see?

Wonderful image. I love the variety of tints of pink and the perfect symmetry.
As for the question what I see in it: Besides a beautiful flower I am seeing in the heart of it 21 spirals counterclockwise and 34 clockwise which corresponds to two consecutive numbers out of Fibonnacci's series (1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21-34-55-...). Mathematics and nature, I love it.

Ya know, I never appreciated flower shots until I was compelled to take some myself. I think the macros are the best though and you've done a wonderful job with lighting and color! Print???

when i looked at the small-view ; I imagined a clearing in the forest where someone had recently made a campfire
full-view is just WOW! the details of all those little tiny petals is mind blowing.
its like staring into a vortex which is the origin of all life. Like all the petals were born there and then slowly develop and grow outwards as they get older.
...yeah......Im sure theres some kind of philisophical metaphor this picture could represent.
but regardless of that XD its a great shot! and I like the way its cropped

It's not very often I see a flower photos that I think of as a powerful image, usually I think of them as pretty. But this is certaunly much much more than pretty. A wonderful composition.
