Description Jadia let the last knocker fall onto the door’s plate. The doors suddenly came to life, their knockers began banging themselves against the door plates.
Sarah’s hands flew to her ears, covering them. Jadia smirked at the girl’s discomfort, to her the sounds were musical, she could hear the bell-like tones under the heavy clanging. The floor in the centre of the room began to turn and desend, turning into a spiral staircase.
Jadia stepped to the stairs, motioning Sarah to follow. As both girls made their way into the darkness below, the floor above closed and became whole again.
“Where are we?” Sarah looked through the darkness before suddenly a bright ball of golden light filled the room ahead of them. She couldn’t tell where the light came from, but Jadia seemed to concentrate on something before walking down the stairs.
“This is the path to the Ugliette. A path, anyway. Hurry up.” Jadia walked through the stairwell that turned and spiraled in on itself down into the depths.
Sarah looked at the walls as they walked. Her right hand tracing the wall. She had to stop several times to ensure what she was seeing.
The stairwell was filled with elobrate carvings of goblins and creatures, bright bubbles seemed to float around the pictures of goblins and horrible beasts.
“Things are not always what they seem.” Sarah mummered to herself.
“Hurry up.” Jadia snapped at her. “You’re falling behind.” The young woman went down more stairs, then suddenly vanished into the wall.
Sarah steppd down the stairs quickly to follow her, dreading the thought of becoming seprated from the girl.

Crushbone held the Rat-wolf at bay on its spiked leash. The creature pulled at the harness in excitement. Crushbone smirked at the animal’s excitement. He knew where to find the sister to the Goblin King.
“Good. Track.” Crushbone hefted the large club he carried on his shoulder and loosed the leash, letting the animal lead him through the labyrinth.
“’Allo!” A tiny voice echoed through the corridor as the dog halted, scratching at a stub of eyemoss stalks.
Crushbone stopped, looking for the Worm.
“Uh... ah-lo.” Crushbone looked down at the little blue worm. “Seen Girl?”

You must understand, as goblins go, Crushbone is not the... quickest of the lot. And his thoughts are very simple, compared to the complicated thoughts of a chicken-chasing goblin.
ACK! No! Crushbone! Put that club down!
We go back to story now.

The Worm smiled and shook his head. “No.. no.. Haven’t seen a girl. Come have a cuppa tea?”
Crushbone thought for a long moment on the Worm’s offer. “No tea. Track Girl.” Crushbone nodded to himself. “Bye-bye Worm.”
The rat-wolf lept back into action and tore down the corridor once again, pulling at the leash hard enough to pull Crushbone off his balance.
The Worm watched the goblin go down the corridor. “Should’ve turned down that way. He’d’ve cut them off that way.” The Worm then slid back into his hole and back to the Misses.

Jadia opened a large stone door, engraved with large carvings of odd-dressed human-like creatures. Sarah had only a moment to admire the carvings, for a brief moment they looked familiar but the thought passed as a loud crash and a curse belted from the open door.
On the other side was a large palace. But it didn’t look like the Labyrinth’s castle, it was smaller, squatter, and not nearly as elegant. Small lithe and slender creatures darted in front of the gates, passing large flowers to each other on each pass.
“What in the-“ Sarah started, then the stench hit her. A smell so horrible, so foul, so rotten and lasting, there are no words to describe it. Suddenly Sarah knew where she was.
Jadia made an odd trilling sound and several of the spindle-limbed creatures stoped their running around and darted to her, chattering too quickly for Sarah to understand.
Sarah’s hand covered her nose from the horrible smell. Though she noticed Jadia didn’t seem to notice the stench.
Jadia made another short trilling sound and the spindle-limbs ran off again, leading the way. She turned to Sarah.
“Come on.” Sarah, figureing it wise, followed Jadia toward the castle.
It only seemed to dawn on her now that she was following this girl blindly, when it could be Jadia was leading her into a trap. When Jadia said to move, Sarah moved without question. That realization disturbed her now and she was beginning to get afraid.
The fear was short lived as the stench of the bog vanished as swiftly as it had hit her. It was replaced with a beautiful and wonderful scent. Something akin to fruit and flowers. Blinking in suprise she looked around, stopping and realizing she had followed Jadia into what could only be described as a garden. Though the plants inside were twisted and vile-looking.
“Where is the Prince?” Jadia was questioning a sharp-nosed goblin with short limbs and thick glasses.
“My lady, His Magesty is attending Jareth’s ball tonight.” The goblin responded in a nasaly voice.
Jadia looked annoyedly toward Sarah. “You can stay here for a while. The servants will tend to you. But do –not- leave this palace.”
Sarah blinked. “What?! Why? You can’t just leave me here. I’m not going to give up and wait here. I want to do what I came to and leave again!” Sarah frowned at Jadia, suddenly she couldn’t think of what, exactly, she had come to the Labyrinth to do.
“If you want to get to Jareth, you have to rest, eat, and blend in. Unless you want to be taken to him via armed guards. If you do. Then please, go about wandering The Labyrinth until your feet fall off and the goblins capture you.” Jadia snapped back.
Sarah was stunned into silence for a long minute, her mouth gaped but she couldn’t think of what to say.
“Now that that arguement’s over. Stay. Here. They’ll make sure you can get to the palace after the Prince gets back, and then you can be on your way and I can be free of your smell.” Jadia picked up the orange mini-ludo and stalked off for the gates, looking annoyed.
Sarah was left there in the ugly garden of beautiful smells set in the middle of the worst smelling place in the world. She was confused, and growing afraid.
The goblin stalked up to Sarah, looking up at her over his angled nose, eyes looking way too big through those thick glasses. “The Lady has ordered you to be cared for Miss Sarah. Follow me, please.” The goblin bowed politely to her and walked for the blocky castle.
Sarah followed numbly, wondering how she was going to get to the Castle at the Centre of The Labyrinth. “Who... is the Prince.” She asked warily.
“The Prince of the Land of Stench. His Magesty, Prince Hoggle the Dwarf.” The goblin said with a wide gesture of his arms and a smirk on his lips.
Sarah blinked in suprise and paused, looking at the castle. Hoggle had become a prince? But of such a horrible place. Suddenly she felt guilty for some reason, but she couldn’t place it.

"If she ever kisses you, I'll turn you into a prince."
"You will?"
"Prince of the land of stench!"

Totally didn't see that part coming. It's great!

(From Shadowcat) this is setting up to be quite intresting, just have to nitpick (sorry) Jadia's eyes are ment to be just like Jareth's right? Jareth/David Bowey has walleye, one eye is a bright blue, the other a dark brown. I loved your mention of the Worm, he is great. Loveing this story so far, keep it up!

Actually, Jadia's eyes change colour. They're like Jareth/Bowies only in shades of brown and blue. As she turns more into what she's becoming they turn more mundane. Originally her eyes were supposed to be Bright icy blue with brown hair styled like Jareth's... Unfortunately I really really need to go back and rewrite the whole thing.
I appreciate it though. I think I did mess up somewhere in my storytelling...

(From Shadowcat) Glad thats cleared up, and I don't count it as a mess up, more like a minor mistake, we can't all be as perfict Jareth! haha

-Sigh- I was in such a rush when I read these through first time, I had little time for comments... But that will never do! I am sorry.

Anyway, I love this part in particular. The reference to the worm cracked me up, and it seems Jareth was true to his word concerning Hoggle, eh? xD I really do love you'r way with words, I can't wait to read more.
