Technically I don't have a license either, but no one else around here does, so my mom and I often help wild animals (most seguls, pigeons, and mice but once we got a hawk for a bit lol)
Well you should actually consider yourself kind of lucky, I mean I love this squirrel like a child, but she had practically shredded my arms and she has chewed up all my pencils and pens and my desk and dresser (cuz she hates her cage so we pretty much giver her free roam of my room )and also, I kid up you not. My. Squirrel. Ate. My. Homework. Try explaining THAT to your teacher lmao

Well my squirrel didnt used to hurt me, and even now when she does it's just because she is wrestling or trying to climb up my shoulder, never on purpose. They really just cant help but chew you up and scratch you when they get older, cuz their claws are so long and sharp.You should definitly share your pictures! Id love to see them!I didn't know how to feed her either when I first got her, but eventually we figured it out. Nowadays she's much easier to feed, we leave dishes of rabbit food, a half a tomato, some peas, sunflower seeds, popcorn, and walnuts. The squirrel eats healthier than I do lmao

aww leo is such a cute name awwww!i got mine cuz my cousins found and tried to kill it, so i stole her and told them she died lmao. at first we had to feed her kmr, which is kitten milk replacer, cuz thats all we could find, but after that gave her diarhea we ordered a special "squirel milk" formula from fox valley. i then had to feed her 5 ccs every 3 hours, for like 5 weeks lol. that was unpleasent lol.
yeah they fool you with their whole "sleep all the time when im a baby" cuz around their 7nth week they will strt to be extra super hyper and then they will only sleep at night (though mine still takes a mid afternoon nap lol)
awww! yeah it prolly reminded him of his mommas tail or somthin lol. penny always likes to sleep in my shirt, which is really cute lol (she hides nuts in my hair tho lol)

Haha yeah I don't think I'll be able to tell penny apart from other squirrels when she grows up either lol. (Though I'm thinking of dying the tip of her tailpink, so that I'll be able to track her movements for at least the first few weeks)
How long ago did you give the lady Leo? Captive raised squirrels evidently mature slower, so he may not even have been released yet. (You might be able to just go outside with some popcorn and sprinkle it arround your yard. If one squirrel is smaller and unusually comfortable with you, it's probably Leo, they have pretty good memory about that kinda thing, penny still won't go near me if I smell like my cousins

Aww I'm sorry you miss him. But he's probably better off, I wish I could've found someone for penny, so that she wouldn't have to spend all day bored and alone in a cage when I'm at school, also your squirrel will have been paired up with another orphan (wildlife rehabbers always do this, because squirrels raised in captivity won't survive in the wild unless they were raised with other squirrels,) so your little Leo is most likely happy and playing with his pseudo siblings!

OMG MY FRIEND WORKS AT A REHAB CENTER NEAR US! THEY GOT A BUNCH OF BABIES THIS YEAR! boy were they loud XD I slept over at the center to help care for some. So cute ^^

Oh yea. Get more fluids into the little thing. That's the main problem probably. You really need to keep a close eye on her cause, depending on how bad it is her, ehem, poo area can get infected because of it and she may stop going. Sorry to be graphic but if she isnt in a rehab center you really need to keep an eye on her to make sure she gets better quick. Try to keep her out of excessive heat. Keep her warm so she doesnt die but like if its 103 outside for instance and 100% humidity dont let her outside or anything like that. Keeping her wrapped would be fine but the high heat will make her dehydrated and the diarrhea gets worse sometimes infections happen

i know she is hydrated because her skin doesnt stay tented when pinched and her urine is clear. by all means she is the perfectly healthy baby squirrel except for the diarrhea. she eats fine and the eats right ammounts at the right times, she doesnt have the pneumonia click, she is even doing things that most squirrrels wouldnt start doing till 6-7 weeks of age(walking fine, climbing things, useing the bathroom on her own (i still stimulate her after every meal, but usually she doesnt go unless its on her own terms, though i still wipe her after she goes) and making sure she exits the nest before useing it, grooming herself,exploring on her own (when shes in her cage))her age has been estimated at 4 weeks because she hasnt opened her eyes yet. practically the only thing wrong is her stool, i just do not understand

yeah i though maybe its just cos we are not feeding her the proper formul,(we are feeding her powdered kitten milk replacer) so we ordered the special stuff, we r getting it today hopefully, so maybe things will clear up with her

You're gonna think we're nuts. Apparently, according to my friend, there are vitamins you can give her. She says she had this happen with another baby. If you give the proper formula and some vitamins it should make it better. She also suggests when Penny gets bigger if you have house plants hide food in there and around your house where things arent so breakable. That'll make her look for food and not become dependent on people feeding her

And chew block you can find at a pet store like those sticks that look like candy. They're made of minerals that are good for them. They also have bottles with liquid vitamins. She says anything for a rat, chinchilla, hamster will do. Also she recommends getting simple wood blocks for Penny to chew on when she's a lil older cause the teeth will grow and maybe break if she doesnt have something to chew on.
Houseplants will work. flip a small basket hide food under it. Anything she can lift move or dig in like a small pot of dirt with a pan under to catch any spilled dirt. IT will help her scavenging skills

One more thing: DONT buy just squirrel seed at a pet store. You will kill Penny. It's a treat for them. Adult wild squirrels can find food to balance it on their own. She cant just eat straight seed. Get her fruit and veggies and a few nuts and hamster biscuits. That'll keep her diet in order. and you are welcome
