Description

Betty Warren, romantic interest and heroine side character of The Shield, is captured twice in this single issue of Shield-Wizard Comics, #2. The popularity of The Shield and The Wizard resulted in these two having their own dedicated publication, with 2-3 features each apiece. Betty continues to find herself constantly held captive in these books, but this one is noteworthy not only for having two full treatment scenes in one issue, but both boasting elaborate death traps for our plucky and ever-stylish heroine.

In this first feature, Betty is captured by villainous (and comically racist, an unfortunate reality of the era) Dr. Wang. She is tied heavily from torso-to-toe in thick rope to a spit roast, left to rotate over a burning fire below. She is also silenced with an OTM gag, completing her peril as she spins about in an elegant green suit.

Short but sweet, occurs across two pages.
