I love gouache. I think the higher perceived quality comes simply from the texture. You can get this effect by editing your digital work to have a paper texture layer on top and change the blending setting.
Your work looks great anyway. I'd love to see a piece with a little more detail though.

I don't think that texture would magically save the day. What means more is colour harmony and texture done by brush strokes. I feel some constraint with digital art, but I hope to overcome that.

Makes sense. A bigger canvas would certainly help. I do hope that eventually computer software can get to a point of properly emulating paint with physics. Maybe you've heard of project Wetbrush: blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2016/07/…
Seems like it would be super handy if it's ever released.

Oh my goodness. Your traditional landscape paintings are to die for! Traditional wet media scares me. I really have to try it but I have no idea where to start.
