Description A big ol' wild gopher toroise wandering across our yard one day. My family lives in the boonies, so when I'm home from school, I get chances every now and then to get some cool wildlife shots. These dudes are pretty big... I'd say his shell was maybe 8 inches across, perhaps more. They wander around at will, and this fellow was moving across the back yard lawn that day. I just snapped a few shots (this one was on zoom... I wasn't about to get all in his face)!!!

don't think I've ever seen a tortoise up this close before...come to think of it, I could probably count the number of times I've seen a tortoise in real life on one hand... but I'm surprised by how human his expression looks. World-weary and weathered.

Anyway the rather long-winded point I'm trying to make is, nice shot.

What I meant was it looks like a fossil, or something carved out of stone.
Morla is the turtle/maybe tortois mountain in The Neverending Story.
