There were new processing showing Pluto in true colour .
I made a texture based on them:

Not vandalized, reported. Plus you should report Pug-Kai's so called, "MrSpace43-Celestia vandalized" because he is a stupid idiotic hater, not knowing that I was not vandalizing!

I would really like to see an updated map of Pluto, because now there are more images available than when this map was last updated. Maybe it would be easier for you to make a new map than to update this one.

it would be a huge amount of work to compleetly remake this map. i do hope to add to the charon map though once i can.

i will problaby just do the charon map = ) the unknown areas need some good updateing wiht the images here. i am quite happy with my Pluto map at the moment, plus doing anything to it would be so complicated at this point i don't know how i could work with it ^^';
i still got to work on Charon map. i got a long weekend so i might do it = ) along with a few other projects i want to do
cheers ^^

I made compilations of the LORRI images of Pluto's and Charon's 'far side'. You may want to use these as a guideline to see what images you have to add since your last update. If you want you can use my processings for your map, since it is unlikely that the new images will be published in an official processed version for a very long time (probably not before 2017).

oh my. these would have been nice to have had a long time ago! lol
thank you. i will try and use them as best as i can = ) hope i can add them easily to my maps without having to redo parts.
if newer views come in let me know if you can = )
cheers!

And there are some from the hours before closest approach that are still on the spacecraft:

Now you have to do is use Master-Bit's takes on Pluto and Charon and fill in the missing data.

Im wondering if the images of the surfaces illuminated by Pluto's haze could be of use?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Renerpho In reply to Robi777 [2015-11-12 13:49:12 +0000 UTC]
Doubtful... I would wait till the charonshine images are procressed and released, and then see if the haze illumination could be of any use.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Robi777 In reply to Renerpho [2015-11-12 21:35:57 +0000 UTC]
But remember that the Charon shine images will be at a much lower resolution than the haze illuminated images.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Renerpho In reply to Robi777 [2015-11-13 01:48:01 +0000 UTC]
Yes, but I hope they will be at higher signat-to-noise-ratio, too.
I think it is best to wait for the charonshine images and then compare maps of the haze illuminated areas with results from actual haze illumination. If it turns out that the visible details are not artifacts, but real, then the higher-resolution data can be used.

Robi777 In reply to Renerpho [2015-11-13 10:53:41 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, you're right...
Btw I calculated that about 80% of Pluto's surface will be mapped once the Charon-shine images are released.

Renerpho In reply to Robi777 [2015-11-13 17:47:44 +0000 UTC]
Sounds correct. Here's the region imaged in charonshine. So the only area not mapped will be south of the heart.

Robi777 In reply to Renerpho [2015-11-13 20:39:50 +0000 UTC]
The area imaged in Charon-shine is actually much smaller since it illuminates only the side of Pluto always facing Charon and nothing above 30 degree latitude will be visible to the spacecraft because of Pluto's tilt. Just look at Bjorn Jonssons flyby video.

Renerpho In reply to Robi777 [2015-11-14 01:15:52 +0000 UTC]
Yes, what I wrote was not completely correct. The map above shows what regions are illuminated by Charon. But all unknown southern terrains that were illuminated have also been actually imaged. Here's the simulated view at time of image.
