Description Really wish that I was able to color this digitally instead since I haven't done any artwork digitally in a long time, plus I wanted to add effects to this drawing so. Haven't drawn any Ruby is a while so here's just a doodle of her.

I like your traditional  art the most,  You do really good with shading and lighting.  It's been at least 6 years since I've done color on paper so I can't say how good I am at it.  I don't see any eraser marks on here so you either didn't make any mistakes or covered them really well.

I know Star is your main but I like Ruby the most.  I'm a sucker for dragons .  Besides being the common fire typing,  her design is rather interesting.  Her wings are a bit small though.  I can't see those getting her off the ground.

I'm usually a critic type so I tend to do that too.  You probably noticed this but, her hands are way different in size.  It's easy to make mistakes on paper because there's no undo button or prefect eraser.  Her boots are a little odd looking but, I can't tell you how many times I erase and redraw footwear to get it right.

Thanks ! I honestly always preferred traditional over digital. But the only thing about traditional is the backgrounds, can be difficult filling in a background using traditional mediums. With digital, you can just do one click away and boom there's your background with all these amazing effects. That's what I miss about doing digital art.
Haha, I actually cover them very well actually. I usually have a bunch of them which gets annoying.

Her wings are quite large actually, it's just that the paper was a bit too small to fit everything in. Lol, everyone seems to like Ruby the most out of all of my FCs. Then next in line is Star.

Yeah I noticed the hands, I often don't seem to get things equal in size. Yeah, especially the left boot looks very awkward, I'm not so good with feet angles lol. Thank you so much for the honest critique ! I rarely get those. I actually learned something from it.

Another advantage to traditional drawing is it's cheaper.  In order to make really good lines you'll need a $400 dollar drawing tablet. Oddly, I use MS-paint and touch pad to draw mine, though I do use my tablet to paint backgrounds and all shading.  If you ever have a question on digital stuff I may know a few neat tricks though I'm still learning it.  I'm currently working on some fire graphics and so far it looks pretty cool.

I didn't consider the limits of paper till now.  One point for digital I guess.  Traditional art is probably the hardest and takes the most skill.  You're the best Sonic style, traditional artist I know and that's saying something.

Also that the line art is more easier to draw out traditionally, and like you said, it's more cheap. Back when I made digital art I made my line art in MS Paint using a laptop pad and shaded in gimp. Once I get my laptop back I'll make sure to ask advice from you.

Yeah, space on paper could get pretty annoying because sometimes you can't seem to get everything all fit in that space (ex. You have to make the legs shorter or else they'll cut off of the page, you have the make things smaller to make everything fit, etc) while on digital you can make the canvas however size you want it to be. Yeah it does and I'm still learning, I personally think that it takes much work than digital.

Aw really? Aw gee thanks ! (x
