Description The two crashed into the snow. The blue dragons stopped fighting. The red dragons did as well. Everyone had their attention at Malygos and Sorel. The shards of ice continued to fall around the two. They both lied motionless in the snow, both breathing heavily. "You... fool..." Malygos muttered, "You wanted... to save the world... You destroyed it, Sorel... You've destroyed us... all..."

The Dragon Aspect of Magic exhaled weakly. Sorel saw him roll to his side and froze still. He tried to hear him continue to breathe. Even with his keen sense of hearing, Sorel couldn't even hear the heartbeat of the Spell-Weaver.

Sorel lay in the snow. He didn't feel victorious. He didn't feel like he defeated the Aspect of Magic. Sorel felt defeated. His eyes turned to the shattered orbs around him. He watched as their glow began to diminish. "What... what have I done...?" The clouds above him began to move rapidly. They swept around like a whirlpool. Thunder began to rumble in the clouds. Sorel had a very, very bad feeling about this.

Spent a good amount of my time making sure the details were there in this one. This one is from the ending of chapter XXII

Aww no happy ending for them ;3;

Is this story supposed to be accurately following the in-game events, or is it more a fan-fiction?  (Liiiike, Lay can still be saved somehow, or by removing an aspect from the world stuff ends up breaking real bad, etc?)

It follows in-game events, but it does take a turn into its own fan-fiction ways.  Look up "The Seeker" folder in my gallery. It'll explain it a bit more than what I can right now.

Mmm fanfiction story? o3o

Well if Maly stays dead, then I dunno...

Malygos does die, but it's focused around the Black Dragonflight mostly. Sorel was turned into a dragon by them and the story is about finding his place in the world while the rivalry between the Blacks and Blues increases.

Aaah okay.
Not many fanfics seem keen on reversing Maly's status as 'expendable' that he was given in the game =/
His death being confirmed as canon was the reason I didn't bother to renew my account when it expired.

Still, sounds interesting though.

Yeah. He went insane for rather strange reasons I thought. I didn't really see how that could make him go all crazy, but I just went with it and used his storyline in-game as a course of events of something much, much larger.

It's something I've complained about on more than one occasion I admit
The reasons given never made sense to me, and my pessimistic side just keeps saying "They did it simply to have another epic raid in the area"

Still,  I have to admit I like how you handled his death a lot better than it goes down in the game.

I've been thinking about my own fanfic for some time, but never really had the courage to ever write it down. Think about it a lot, but never write =/
Maly comes very close to becoming like he was in-game prior to the events that led up to his fight, but Alex and Ysera manage to calm him down. He does get seriously injured by the main antagonist of the second-half of the story, in a surprisingly similar manner to the previous part to this (Another dragon biting and clawing at him), but I'm still divided as to how to handle that... If he should die or if I should keep trying to find a way to not let that happen.  I can't always have my way, even in my own fictions =/

Yeah for sure.

You should write a fan-fic if you really want to!

Being afraid to aside, the main reason I haven't yet is I keep thinking and re-thinking events and character motives ><
I'm terribly against retconning of established information unless it really makes sense and fits in with the rest of the material, so I just end up trying to solidify something and make it consistent, only to keep revising it over and over... And endless cycle D:

Aye. Having somone choke ya to death hurts even more - in wildlife, predators always go for the throat, though the Jaguar will go for the brain
