Wow. They are impressive. For some reason I had it in my mind that a) Stone Henge was all fenced off and you couldn't get anywhere near that close and b) that they were located up in Scotland. Ooops!
Ah, well. How hard is it to get out there to the Stones? I'm wondering since I'm going to be over in the UK (though right up the other end in Edinburgh) for 8 months or so on Exchange with Uni and think it would be a pretty worthy place to see during my time there.

The outside is fenced off, and normally you're not allowed in the area around or in the stone circle but we got special access to to in after opening hours and you're free to move in and around the site
*L* naw, they're down in Wiltshire, its kind below South Wales. We had a car so it wasn't too hard for us to get there but without one you'd probably have to get a train to Sailbury and take a taxi from the station to the site. It's kind of the opposite end of Britian for you ^^

Ah. Ok that makes sense now. I was sure I'd heard there was a big kerfuffle about them closing it a few years back. I guess that makes it even more neat that you got in (and with a camera too - very smart move!)
Hmmm... Ok, my UK geography isn't fantastic but I know that South Wales is about as far as you can get from Scotland. Oh well. I'll have to make a road trip of it when down in London or during the Spring Break. It's that or settle on going to see Watership Down.
