Description The Laconi High Waterfall is located within the Aymerich Park, a historic park that belonged to the Aymerich family, the last lords of Laconi (18th century).

The waterfall is so called because it is the largest of other waterfalls in the park. Although it is not particularly high (about 12 metres), the Major Waterfall is still very suggestive and represents one of the many natural attractions of the Park. It is also interesting because it represents a rare example of travertine waterfall formation. Its percolating waters, in fact, are very rich in calcium bicarbonate. The waterfall favours the release of carbon dioxide, further emphasized by the presence of mosses which, through the photosynthetic process, contribute to lower the carbonic acid content of the water. This causes the precipitation of calcium carbonate that is deposited on the wall of the waterfall and on the mosses feeding the travertinisation process.
