I can't put my finger on it, but he does look like a certain ethnicity. Perhaps mixed even.
Either way, this came out great!

OH my gooodddd baby this came out amazing!!! I absolutely love how this picture came out defiantly a lot better than last months!!
He looked a lot more African now defiantly. Your style also looks a bit different too and I am really digging it. The only problem I have with the picture is his hair. But his hair is pretty hard to get in a realistic manner!
I cant stop staring at his face ngl. :I His eyes are absolutely beautiful

It's hard to tell whether he looks African or not because there are just so many variations and ethnic groups within Africa! For all I know, he could be a mix of every African group, which is probably less plausible than Caucasian or Pacific features with dark skin. If you're going for accuracy, you should pick something more specific than just African, I think.
Or I might be missing the point completely.

Ambiguity isn't necessarily good, but it isn't necessarily bad, either. It really depends on the story. Most movies and comics get away with having the wrong looks for people of known ethnicities because they're not a plot point. No reason to get bogged down with the details if they're not contributing to the story. But if the story calls for it, then research is worth it. Of course, even within individual ethnic groups, there is variation and it is not that uncommon to find someone who looks like another ethnicity, so you don't have to go overboard with the accuracy even when it does matter.
...I cheat; I mostly write fantasy stories with made-up humanoid races ._.
I'm just really glad to see an artist take interest in making their characters look unique, and even more glad that someone is taking the time to make an non-white character who isn't just white with differently coloured skin.
If you're interested in looking up specific races, I really can't suggest anything better than Google's image search (if you're careful and actually read the accompanying text). There are tutorials, but they are often wrong, exaggerated, limited in scope, and don't go into connections between various ethnic groups. National Geographic's photo books are also an amazing source of reference, since they often deal with specific geographical areas and make the distinction between even closely-related groups.

That's a good point! I'll definitely keep that in mind for other characters I have! It really does make sense to not worry about the accuracy when its really not that important to the plot.
And that's definitely not cheating! It takes a lot of work to create humanoid races! D: I actually commend you for taking the time to make them! I know it requires a lot of details, research and well, time since there could be loop holes.
Aw, thanks! I personally wish I didn't put off the ethnic studies because I was afraid of failure. But, its a lame excuse after a while. D: And yes! I'll definitely Google. National Geographic is an amazing suggestion as well! It's been years since I last looked at their stuff! Thank you so much! ;A; I mean it!
