One, this piece is just awesome. It's well done, the colors are great, the composition rocks, and it shows off the theme beautifully.
Two, another thing that makes me love this so much is that it's traditional media... nothing wrong with digital, but I've got a soft spot for traditional stuff, and this is just awesome.

XD I'm pleased you find it so! It was a pleasure to work on, even with the obvious kinks. This will be the character I use for the entire 100 theme challenge, so he will get subtly reworked. I too have a soft spot for traditional media - I find that digital is taking over, so I'm reverting back to the basics. -^^- Thank you for your kind words!

Well, I certainly look forward to seeing how the character is "developed" and such.
And yeah, it does seem digital's taking over... I can't tell you how many times I've seen a great piece, and been kind of disappointed it was digital, lol.

XD I'll also be writing a story on this, but posting on here would be almost a joke. People, in general, are visually oriented...It makes me sad to say that there would be few people who even considered taking a glance at the stories in artist's galleries. I digress.
But yeah...I've been disappointed many a time like that, how digital can reproduce traditional 10 times better than traditional itself. Ah well...what can we do? XS

I just depends on the audience, really... For people who are just looking to look, you're probably right. But for people who are interested in the character(s) and such, they would be more prone to looking at the writing, just to see what's going on, etc.
As for the digital... there isn't much we can do, except keep plugging along with our traditional stuff, happy and secure in the knowledge that the digital wouldn't even be possible without the traditional. (Though it does seem a lot of people do it because it's "easier" to work with, since you can just delete something that goes wrong. *shrug*)
