Finally finished. The painting I have poured the most time into hands down. For some reason it has taken all summer, in some part because of all the details and in some part due to me not feeling well. My guess it that it lies between 100 och 150 hours of work behind it. Made completely in Photoshop using an Intuos 4.Anyway. It is supposed to depict a pirate xebec soon to be fired upon by a large French man-o-war. Time period is first half of the 18th century.
The painting is the cover image for a supplement for the Swedish RPG En Garde! III.

With a good crew and fair wind, the Xebec would be far more yar than the lumbering Man-O-War. Might manage to slip away while the Frenchie is trying to follow the tack.
Or, things go bad and it is blown to pieces.

Wow! Great light. I love the detail you put into the riggings and the waves. It has a peaceful feel to it, maybe due to calm associations with sunset, possibly because the boats are on a relatively even keel. Not calm for long though, I guess!

Jättevacker bild! Känner mig så avis att jag har inte mycket tid att sitta vid datorn och jobba med Photoshop. Jag önskar att jag kunde hålla scheman och jobba mer med Photoshop. Jag har ritat mycket på pappren men har inte hunnit publicera dem på dA. Jag ska försöka göra det idag. Jag har velat att jobba med något spelföretag i Sverige.
Men annars... Du gör det jättebra! Havet ser snyggt ut men jag vet att du kan göra det mycket bättre. Mer realistisk. Mitt förslag är att du kan prova att täcka bilden med lite... vad heter det... noise. Du kan kolla Adonihs galleri i dA. Bara mitt förslag men annars har du gjort mycket bra!

Problemet med att jobba med spelföretag är att många av dem inte har råd att betala något vettigt. Men vill man ha erfarenheten finns det många som skriker efter hjälp.
Vatten är för övrigt jättesvårt att få bra, speciellt om man som jag inte har fungerande fingrar och motorik (har en led- och muskelsjukdom som gör jobbet lite klurigt ibland). Jag har också testat mig fram med olika noise-filter, men har förkastat dem för att det såg fejk ut. Å andra sidan målar jag alltid med penslar som har inbyggt noise (zooma gärna in i bilden och titta närmre på penseldragen) för att slippa den fula digitala och plastiga känslan. Undantaget är möjligen himlen, vilken i naturen nästan alltid består av skarpa streck blandat med mjuka färgövergångar och fluff. En av hemligheterna med att lyckas med en bild är rätt yta på rätt ställe.

Ja, intressant. Jag vet att spelföretag har lite tufft med ekonomi och jag har funderat att ge lite bidrag till några spelföretag som jag brukar köpa och spela. Till exempel Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider, The Sims, osv. Jag skulle bli jätteglad om mitt arbete blir en del av dem. Jag bryr mig inte om pengar utan jag vill ha nya erfarenheter och kunna utveckla mina färdigheter. Jag har velat skriva egna böcker men har inte börjat skriva en enda sida än, ha ha. Snacka om lathet.
Jag är imponerad på dig att ditt problem inte hindrar dig. Det är jag jättestolt över. Jag är döv och samhället begränsar mig men det hindrar mig inte. Jag tycker att du gjorde mycket bra jobb med bilden. Självklart blir man aldrig nöjd med resultatet men tack vare det kan man utvecklas och bli bättre och bättre hela tiden. Visste inte att noise passade inte in. Det stämmer att noise passar inte in alla bilder. En sak som jag älskar din bild är "detalj". Superbra jobbat! Fortsätt så!

Jag tror vi talar om olika typer av spel här.
Men men, tack! Mina problem hindrar dock tyvärr en del trots allt. De är anledningen till att jag inte är speciellt produktiv, inte kan slösa tid på att träna eller bara skissa, och till att det tar mig så lång tid att få färdigt en bild. Jag gör dock vad jag kan, till stor del på samma sätt som du antar jag fast med andra saker.
Jag känner dock själv att jag ständigt blir lite bättre för varje bild, så gränsen är inte nådd än på ett tag. När det gäller noise jobbar jag som sagt hellre med penslar som har det inbyggt. Sedan syns det bättre i vissa bilder än i andra.

The contrast here is fantastic. The water is beautiful, and the details of the ships make the piece eye-catching while not being distracting. I love how the yellows and oranges you used create the atmosphere of the piece.
