Description Another drawing made for that historical roleplaying game. It is made using a mechanical pen and... that's about it. Took me about 35 hours or so though and I never want to draw another ship with rigging again thank you very much. (and I'm faaar too perfectionistic to simplify it )

Edit: Cleaned the picture up a bit using Photoshop.

Simply beautiful I can believe it took you that amount of time given the detail and the lighting. It's amazing.

Again beautiful and I know that feeling, the riggings are what make it difficult in my opinion. Just finished a piece that was just a cropped picture I took of a ship at sunset of one of the masts and that took forever and even then i kept out some of the smaller lines. I know the feeling and amazing job, the power, the movement and the fact this is mechanical pencil is marvelous! amazing work! Bravo!

Thank you!
Although I used a reference for about half of the rigging. Still hard, and takes forever. I must be mad to actually paint ships again and again.

You're very welcome and referencing is the ONLY way to keep one sane while painting or drawing ships in my opinion. I know that's what I do and they are addicting which is the bad thing.

I don't know, I think my sanity is slipping even with references.

I really like the way you drew the water, looks like it's almost moving.

hehe, mostly time and some use of a tortillon (smudge stick thingy). And use of a good eraser for the very light areas. Hard to explain.

hihi thank you! And yes it is made using a simple mechanical pen. Took a while though and the "Edit" part in the description was done in photoshop. I just couldn't help but clean it up a little where needed.
