Description I crossed the step
Into darkness, stillness
A step into cool air
Solidness, emptiness
Sunlight streamed in
Revealing feelings of holiness
There he was seated
Showing curves of godliness
Perfect respect
For what some may call happiness
I crossed Ganesha’s step…

It was a coming home for me... a dark temple in Hampi, India.

I'm not sure why this picture was not up on this site (it was just pointed out to me by my friend).
This is art from 2004 the poem is from a year or two before that (I had to wait for my artistic skills to catch up with what I wanted to portray!) I'll get a larger version when I'm home and can get to the original.

haha I knew I remembered it. Compared to your other Ganesha, this one looks very big and imposing.

He was! I was 13 and this was a small temple and he filled up alsmost all the space in it. Light came through the top of the roof and fell on his curves in beams so to say and it was cool and damp, compared to outside where you could see the air move from the heat...
