Yes. It's based on an italian model, fully articulated.
The metal plates are attached to a structure of hard leather ribbons underneath, and again to a leather glove (you put your hand in the comfortable leather glove)

It's alpaca metal, an alloy of copper and nickel.
Almost as hard as steel, but don't rusts.
