I've never really seen the point in adoptables. What are people buying them for? Especially the chibi adoptables... I guess people just can't resist their cuteness? I was almost cuted into buying an adoptable a few times. LolBut seriously, what do people do with their adoptables after they buy them? Display them? Redraw them? Idk...
Reference sheets are cool because they give a single character and a lot of detail. But we're talking about adoptables here.
Jeez, this argument is all over the place. It's so non-cohesive xD
Anyway, I'm just saying: adoptables should be full body characters each with their own slightly different pose. And themes are never a bad idea. I just don't understand the copy/paste chibi adoptables is all.
So yeah... These took me about 2 hours to draw. Like this, I'd sell them for maybe $6 each. But let's face it. People only buy colored stuff. So I'd bring this into SAI and color them and sell them for something like $10 each. The buyer would get free reign to do whatever the heck they want with the character. It's their design now. They're essentially buying the design after all, right?
The girl on the left is gonna be my character for the Tatakai Club. Her name is Mitsuki Magilligan. The other two characters will be forgotten and never looked at again. So if anyone wants to adopt them, have at it.
I know that this rant makes like zero sense, so I'll probably get no comments. So instead of replying, you can just give me a potato if you want

I really agree with on this case.. I mean, the artists tell the person who bought the adoptable tell them to credit the original maker

Yeah I agree with you to a certain extent. However I find that alot of people use adoptables for roleplaying. Some also for web comics and fan fics. And sometimes just as a personal doll. I dont go around buying a bunch of adopts and not end up doing anything with them. Thats why im not an adopt collecter. Because thats exactly what would happen with them. I hate to see adoptables collect dust. On the other hand, I do love to make adoptables. Unfortionatly they dont sell at all. -_- So im thinking about giving up. Oh and heres your potato

Yeah that was one thing I never understood about DA (in my long two weeks here xD), soo... do you just doodle them after? Or ask if they can draw you another drawing with the character? o.e I draw inspiration from others but I don't want to actually DRAW their work. It's theirs. I dunno.
Though if I had seen mint as an adoptable I must admit the temptation would have been strong xD

And yeah I guess once you buy the adoptable, they become your design property. But some people put restrictions, like every time you draw them you need to credit the person who designed her/him. Stuff like that, so idk...

i actually did not know how adopting worked either, but i made so many amazing friends here on dA from that xD
one i adopted, i actually use as an OC (and i LOVE her 
basically it's just a way to make money by selling designs so if you don't use them they're useless. xD

I do agree with you for the coloring issue. If they're buying it then they should have control of what color scheme they'd want for their new character... or something along those lines....bad at explaining things. Have a potato.

And people do buy uncolored stuff, but just not as much for something colored. o - o ;;
And IMO, I think it's better to sell chibis since they're easier to make and more people buy them because they're cheaper~

Mitsuki is my favorite name so I name a lot of oc's Mitsuki Dx
