Nothronychus, the first therizinosaur to be found outside Asia, is also one of the most complete. It lived at the edge of the shallow sea that covered most of central North America at the time, in the swampy deltas in the area of New Mexico and Utah. It is one of the few dinosaurs known from the early part of the Late Cretaceous. Its name, which means "sloth claw", comes from the similarity between it and the giant ground sloths that existed until a few million years ago.

Interesting. This species' fossils were quite complete so it helped a lot of people to understand the therizinosaur group more.

This one has more reasonable-sized wings; only about five feet long.
