Howdy folks! here's my latest scratchboard, good old Atticus Finch from "To Kill a Mockingbird", as portayed by Gregory Peck. One of my favorite movies and one of my favorite books. See and read 'em if you haven't!5x7 scratchboard, the image is slightly larger here so you can see a little detail. I had to repair it a bit with some india ink here and there, but I'm pretty pleased with it!

Atticus Finch is one of my all-time HEROES :'D He, along with Phoenix Wright, have inspired me to go to law school and start a practice of my own.

One of my favorite parts is when he shoots that rabid dog and his sons like, 'holy shit! my dads the man!' the dog they use in the film actually looks rabid. It looks like they really shoot it too. It's always kinda disturbed me!

Who knows what the regulations were for that kinda stuff back then? Hell, Hollywood was probably littered with the corpses of dead dogs and horses in the old days before the Humane Society!

I think you're right. At the end of films they would say "two horses, one cat and a turtle were harmed in the production on this film.'
reminds me also of a story i heard about the old days of the BBC. there would be a guy on before a given show that had 'bad language' who would say, "Viewers should be advised that the following programme contains the words 'bloody' 'damn' and 'godawful.'
