aah very interesting. just a personal opinion, I'd see this one desaturated or toned BW -the textures are amazing.

You like your B+w don't you. I'll give it a go. You could be onto something. Thanks very much

Well it could be either BW or desaturated… your choice. Maybe I like experiments good luck. I’m curious about the results, it’s a great pic.

atom7 In reply to sundreaming [2005-11-03 11:42:13 +0000 UTC]

Quick question. whats the difference between b+w and desaturated. are the results not the same?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

sundreaming In reply to atom7 [2005-11-03 17:58:52 +0000 UTC]

bw is... bw so every color is lost, you just get the greyscale. desaturated means that you lower the level of the intensity of colors (one, some or all of them); of course if you desaturate down to 'zero' level you get... bw

this one [link] has been desaturated (twice) and then re-toned; as you see some of the original color is present -the result is close to BW feel but that bit of color kinda 'fits' the shapes. my opinion of course

It's getting pretty damn cold here, makes it hard to get out of bed everymorning. Though, they should really cancel the classes in the morning.

Which part of China are you in. It must be an interesting country. I am thinking about visiting there next year for a month so any suggestions that you may have would be appreciated.

Well, i'm in Guanzhou, about 2 hours from Hong Kong. And err, ask me about the suggestions bit in a year All i know is that HK is expensive, Beijing is political, Guanzhou's full of industries, and Hunan (up north) has got the best looking people in China.

Thanks. The sea i think is one of the element that is beyond our total control, like fire. I can sit an watch the waves for hours, just staring at them, just like staring into the flames of a fire.

It's really amazing there isn't it. Those rock platforms always make for great photographs.

I like all the different tones of the clouds in this shot. It makes the wave and therefore the photo look more aggressive. I also like how there's no water in the very foreground of the photo but there is some being pushed that way. Awesome dude, Awesome!

yeah it is a cool spot. We are very lucky with where we live to have such a place so close. My good friend lives at south Narra so we wander down that way a bit when we are out taking shots. Thanks very much for the cool comment.
