Description My friend recently told me that he preferred this shot of Cerro Torre over the other that i have in my gallery so i thought that i should submit this.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful places on the planet that i have seen the glacier national park in argentina is home to some stunning peaks such as cerro torre and mount fitzroy. it also borders the third largest land based ice cap in the world and is home to one of the only glaciers that is still advancing.

Stunning shot. As for advanced critique, I don't know! perhaps a ND grad filter to even the picture and bring out the foreground?

thanks for the comment. I shall look into trying something like that. It was taken on my little point and shoot so i couldn't add any filters to it but i look forward to getting some for my new camera.

sometimes when the scenery is that spectacular it is not much more than a matter of point and shoot. Thanks very much for your nice comment.

atom7 In reply to Helens-Serendipity [2005-10-21 10:37:41 +0000 UTC]

Doesn't quite match up to the west coast of Scotland though. Still one of the most picturesque spots in the world. I could be a bit biased though

Now there i just have to agree whole heartedly (not as though i've been anywhere) but i get to see a lot of the world just sitting here So you've visited then?

I am scottish born, in edinburgh. I grew up in australia but return every few years to scotland to visit my relatives who are all still there. I have 1 uncle in gairloch, and loch maree is one of my favourite spots with the lovely slioch towering over it.

You must miss Scotland ... well i know we do but great to be able to return!
We've not managed to get that top quater done yet hopefully in the future

I do miss scotland. All my relatives still live there, so its always good to catch up with them when i return, but the land itself holds a special place in my heart even after all these years. I guess its true what they say. You can take the scots out of scotland but you can't take scotland out of the scots.

It's a stunning place. The whole area is dotted with small lakes surrounded by glaciers and these fantastic granite spires. Definately one of the most picturesque spots that i have ever seen.

I'm reasonable sure that this one has been shot many times over the years but why not when its such a spectacular mountain. Thanks very much.

Wow, very impresive, beautiful picture! The colors and compo are so beautiful. And the relfection is adorable.
I see you used a canon a40. Isn't that a point and shoot cam? Respect to you!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

atom7 In reply to Zibro [2005-10-11 13:05:24 +0000 UTC]

thanks. Yeah it was pretty much a point and shoot. I used to have it set on manual but even then it was very limited to what you could do with it. only 2mp so unfortunately can't blow the shot up too much.
