Large Pencil drawing of the Crown Prince from Norway

This is the finished color pencil drawing of Haakon Magnus the Crown Prince from Norway.

This is the second large portrait i did for the Royal family. The first one was of the king Harald V.

Im calling this one pencil drawing because i used 90% pencils the other 10% are white oil airbrush around the edges.

The interesting thing discovered at the very end was when i was working with oils. I used a small brush and just started adding small dots of white oil color without blending them or smudging then out. I waited about 3 days when the oil was about 80% dry and then i used a white pencil to blend out the color. The base of the dot was dry but the top was still easy to work with. So i blended it out using pencils and it worked great. At this point you cant even tell there is a small layer of oil color on top.

I used pastel, water color, charcoal and graphite pencils from Derwent to make this drawing.

The next step from here is to frame in the drawing and send it to the Royal Palace in Oslo/ Norway.
