Wonderful deviation !!
It reminded me a lot of my original character Jeanne, which is also a "Panda Girl".
Um, your image reminded me that I had decided to take off the black spots arround the eyes of my panda girl (like my actual d.a. icon), because its kinda hard to keep good expressions in a comic with them. Although, when I saw this image, I totally felt like I could give my character whatever emotion I like if I have the right technique. It also made me realize that, we forget that it's a panda if it doesn't have the black spots.
It inspired me to make a change to my design, and re-work my deviation, right on the spot !

I don't think theses spot are hard to express feelings or stuff. In fact I think that theses black spot can renforce the emotions of the character, like a big makeup.. ^^'
