Description

This idea came to me while watching a documentary on ancient egypt: what if egyptian gave their gods animalistic features because their was actual anthropomorphic peoples living amongst them (and not because of boring mythological reasons) ? And so I created this concept: the Furry Pharao-verse.

Second character, second concept, an Ibis-girl. (I will make the joke: she's a Thot, to avoid it in the comments)

Name: Seshmer (Say-sh-mare)
Nickname(s): Shesh (sh-eh-sh) and Seshat (Say-sha)
Age: 21
Sex: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Date of Birth: 1301 B.C.
Place of Birth: Tanis, Egyptian Empire
Species: Apedwefa (apt-way-fah)
Apedwefa are a species of humanoid avian that lived in the Nile Delta. Slightly taller and lighter than humans, their skin range to light gray to black with a white duvet covering much of their body and vestigial feathers usually covering their arms. Before contact with the humans, they lived as fisherman and foragers, fishing with small boats made of reeds. They brought papyrus and boat-making to the early Egyptians and developed close relations with them. While hieroglyphs were a human invention, the Apedwefa scribes developed the simpler demotic form that will spread in the administration, entrenching themselves as scribes or governmental officials, or worked in the papyrus and boat making industry.
Occupation: Scribe for the decrees of Nen-nesou (Heraklopolis)
Universe: Furry Pharao-verse
Height: 6’ 4’’
Weight: 146 pound
Skin color: Dark Grey
Feather color: White

Personality: Calm, hard-working, honest, loyal and soft-spoken but also lack in self-confidence (which can lead her being treated as a doormat), anxious, indecisive, easily impressionable and oblivious (especially about other people emotions).
Likes: Swimming, fish (usually cooked), wine, learning new things, fruits (such as dates and figs), milk, working (she like the feeling of achievement), star/moon-gazing, history (and myths) and playing Senet (Egyptian board game).
Dislikes: Sand (it's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere), hot summer days, onion, spicy food, waiting (and wasting time in general), loud noises, storms, chaos, snakes and dirtiness.
Greatest Fear/Phobia: Failure; her family were not scribes but reed farmers; this meant that Seshmer was initially destined to follow in their step if it wasn’t for the intervention of Djedseba, a local scribe that noticed the young girl trying to learn hieroglyph by herself. Childless, he was willing to bequeath his position to the promising Seshmer, even if it was unorthodox. He sponsored her enrolment in a Per Ankh (life house/school) in Abydos. This meant that the young 6 year old had to leave her family and house to travel to another city located at the other extremity of the empire. Since his name was attached to Seshmer, Djedseba made sure that the child understood the importance of this gift through the travel. Amongst the rare girl of the school, her training was entrusted to scribes and priestess of Seshat, who, in turn, made sure to teach their few female students how rare and privileged their situation, was. The heavy burden of her studies, her fear of disappointing Djedseba and her anxious nature meant that at a young age she would develop a crippling fear of failure and began to value herself through her work, believing that any slight misstep could mean shame and the end of her career.

Parents: Anekhet (father) and Wadjhemet (mother)
Siblings: Mesneh (old brother) and Aairehew (oldest brother)
Friends: Sefseba (her only friend from the Per-Ankh of Abydos that she kept contact with), Iaisheney (director of the palace scribes, he appreciate Seshmer skills)
Best friend: Djedseba
Significant Other/Crush: Ahshefdew (Another Apedwefa scribe in the Nen-nesou administration, he is an archive inspector. He courted Seshmer for a long time before she realized that he was interested in her. While she love him, she fear that settling and having childs with him would mean abandoning her job)
Enemies/Rivals: While not an enemy or rival per se, her grandmother Senaai is very critical of her choice to leave their town and keep trying to have her to come back.
Pet: None

Hobbies: Astronomy, Seshmer make her own star charts to track decans (36 group of stars marking night ‘’hours’’)
Habits: Keep sharpening her reed pen when she’s stressed
Residence: Nen-nesou (Heraklopolis), Egyptian Empire
