Heh... God it's been a long time since I've seen her or her robotic buddies. The last time I saw her was on an old VHS tape during my childhood in the late 90s/early 2000s.... God do I feel old.
This show should totally come back. I can totally see this on Toonami's midnight block, just for the sake of variety sake.

It had everything, including an over-the-top narration by Gary Owens (and that's sayin' something for him).
It's been 25 years and I still love it to bits!

Oh yeah! Love it dude! I rewatch the opening on youtube often, it's like a time machine baybee. I reckon I love the Bionic Six more because there were more episodes but Orbots holds a special place in my heart.

Wow, it's cool to see that there are fans of Mighty Orbots, it was a great show. I wonder if there are fans of "Bionic Six"? It was made by the same company, TSR, and by the way, I storyboarded a few of those shows.

I really don't know what it was with TMS in the 80s but they made pretty much all the animation I really loved (and continue to love), there was a kind of flavour to it all that just clicked with me.
I could watch Orbots, Ulysses 31, Bionic Six, Lupin III, Mazinger... man! So many great memories!

So what was it like storyboarding there, did they give you guys much room for creativity or was it all "this is the script and you should follow it"?

Ah the old days when we were told to follow the Intent of the script, but we could have fun with it, even ad new dial, or new situations, when it was needed. Those days we were called Storyboard Directors. Years later the scrip became etched in stone, but that rule has always been pliable, with some directors.

Oh man, I've heard some of the horror stories of locked-in production. I'm really glad you guys had some wiggle room, maybe that's what made some of that stuff more fun to watch.

Another Orbots fan found!
This remains one of my favorite cartoons of all time, and one of the great travesties of cartoon history as well...Orbots cancellation I hear was due to a lawsuit by the producers of Gobots because they felt the series was too similar to Gobots! (utter crap, that is!)
Orbots also had the bad luck to be sandwiched between Dragon's Lair and Turbo Teen...Two of the crappiest Cartoons EVER!!

When I was a kid I couldn't believe that such a cool show would get canned after only one season. When I found out what had happened as an adult I was pretty pissed off about it. Especially given how crap Go-Bots was.

Wow to such impressive remodeling here AtomicTiki, looking at how well the sketches are done and the overall dead-on accuracy to her original looks, have to say one your best AtomicTiki.
And fine work on coloring that metal body, simple stuff you seem to do, actually been trying to that but tend to overdo it, any suggestions?

Thanks man, I took an Orbots model sheet, inked and coloured it.
I did something different here too, I added the highlights before the shadows. It seemed to work quite well.
