Hillbilly means beyond pearlesque
curves, hyperboli fat wads

It's the darker green, and softer wood
home to swing sets and nooses,
red wood and heads broken
because they're over used

It's the black rock, burned by the dozen
to turn iron wheels on iron land
and make crows cough dry
as whisky, just smooth poison

to Southern Comfort,
and the grey caps and capstones,
and the porches guarded dear,
and to each stolen star and stripe,
