Description Honestly, some days I just love Nintendo.

The Koopalings are obviously also an excited bunch with the good news of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. (Morton's even speechless!) Of course, there's bound to be a bit of competition among them, tooβ€” which one is going to be portrayed the best... that is, the meanest...??


I just couldn't be happier about this game myself. Forget Galaxy 2... it's the Koopalings in 3-D!! Mein Grott, I never thought I'd see the day!

If you're wondering about Iggy's line, it's supposed to be a throwback to Yoshi's Safari, for which it has been said Iggy built an army of giant robots for him and his family... just wonderful beating machines. (He's supposed to be holding, like, a robot remote control. Yeah. XD) See, I'm going to take the unusual step of hoping for the very best of the Koopalings' appearance in this game... voice clips? character development? no Junior...? Bring it on!!


(I'm also gonna shade this later, but I'm going to be away this weekend and just wanted to post this as is in the meantime. )

Wow, that is interesting indeed. ^^ Sometimes it still seems like the Koopalings are the neglected, long-forgotten baddies of the Mario universe-- but these days, not so much.

I am not happy to learn that they put all eight into the same game. It's really... just sad, implying through association that the seven are equal to, or indeed even inferior to, that clone that is Bowser Jr.

I guess it's one more reason that Mario games just don't have the same magic that they used to.

I was also rather dissapointed when Jr. was given full dominion of the Koopalings' old staples, the Doomships, now that you mention it.

(And funny bit of trivia for ya: Once, long ago and on a different forum, when Mario Sunshine and Superstar Saga were the current hits, and Jr. was new and the Koopalings had just made their first post-SNES appearance... I said I'd quit the Mario fandom if Jr. and the Koopalings EVER appeared in the same game (for East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet). A hollow threat, history has shown... but still. Jr.'s introduction to the Koopalings hit me hard when it finally happened.)

I liked seeing Kamek, but his role was forced... it felt more like fanservice than a legitimate cameo. The utter lack of the kind of dialogue that made his Yoshi's Island appearance so fun also worked to the disadvantage of his clearly Yoshi's Island-inspired role in NSMBWii.
