He does actually look like Mikau (as in they're intended to look similar), but Link has his own aspects blended in (including a more muscular body I've noticed) so he's not an exact duplicate.

I don't see how he could have, since they died before the time loop began. Darmani's whole situation is the single most depressing thing in any video game I've ever played (though I don't exactly call myself an avid gamer.)
